Cavemanhead Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Can anyone give me some tips to get BOS going quickly using a Warthog? Starting with zero knowledge. Understanding is this; please correct if wrong. 1) Flash stick/throttle with latest firmware posted on Thrustmaster's website. 2) Download latest "Target" software posted on Thrustmaster's website. 3) Download a good BOS file (or files plural - not sure how many it takes to make the stick/throttle work)... Old Cougar used "macro" and Joystick" files. What is the name of the Cougar file (or files)... I assume I use Target to load them into the stick/throttle? Anyone know where to get a good BOS file?
Sokol1 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) Starting with zero knowledge. 1 - "If ain't broken, don' fix it!". 2 - Not much commands to map, can assign joy buttons directing game GUI (DX mode). 3 - Something there: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=3&pid=311&cid=12 http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2486-wart-hog-profile/page-2?do=findComment&comment=71204 https://www.dropbox.com/s/jqnslm9a9yil9mt/X3TC%20Warthog%20Files.zip?dl=0 Here "aileron trim" script for all planes: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3915747/Anyone_flying_BoS_using_the_TM To create reference sheets: http://subn3t.com/warthog/ Edited November 29, 2015 by Sokol1
dburne Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 1: If you got the Warthog new recently, probably is already flashed to latest firmware as the latest has been out a while, but easy to check in the TARGET software, with the " get firmware" button for the stick and the throttle. Definitely recommend you flash to the latest if you do not have the latest, as there were some issues with previous firmware. 2: Absolutely download the TARGET software and read the manual. Then read the manual a couple more time. Programming joystick files in the TARGET GUI is relatively easy and very powerful in " advanced" mode. Alternatively as Sokol1 mentioned, you can assign button commands directly in the game with no need to use the TARGET GUI. You can still use the GUI for setting LED states on your throttle. 3: See above regarding TARGET software and manual reading. Ideally you will want to do it yourself, whether in game or with TARGET. And it would give you a much better understanding of your hardware and software. Best of luck,

Cavemanhead Posted December 1, 2015 Author Posted December 1, 2015 Guys, Thanks so much for the responses... Getting ready to dive in soon... I'd love to have a great config file for BOS... I was hoping at least a few Warthog gurus played BOS and had posted their files... Wondering what people typically use for prop pitch, radiators, etc...
Sokol1 Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 The profile posted in Tm (link above) don't have prop pitch mapped -(are a illustrated PDF in the files). And use two HAT on throttle for radiator, what is not needed, as one HAT handle all various types of radiator, cow shutters and the oil radiators. The names - and if the plane are water or air cooler dont matter, all have the same function: cool the engine. Looks that was made for "casual SP player" for NORMAL game mode. Anyway can be used as start point to do your own.
