Spectate in MP. How?

When you click the spectate button in MP all I see is a landscape view with no action and I am not able to move the view around at all, am I missing something?

Same happens to me. It could be great to spectate something more than growing grass

Cntrl F2 will cycle though A/C and F5 through ground units, if no aircraft nearby look for action by cycling ground units until you hear A/C then use Cntrl F2

 

You can only spectate on Normal servers that have external enabled

If the server has external view enabled you can press F11 and go to free camera, and move around freely.
