Last night in the official normal server it was a full tilt fur ball. I was taking off several times from the airfield and felt I was in a real war zone with all the bombs going off and the strafing going on. At one time it took me three tries before I was able to get into the air and fight.

Indeed. I was forced on the German team on the expert server (well, not forced, I just can't bring myself to join the team that already has a significant numerical advantage) and we were heavily pressed with bombs, rockets and shells going off everywhere around my tank. Life expectancy in the Pz III was not high, but it was great fun nonetheless.
