PERSISTING PERFORMANCE ISSUES!!!!!!!!!WHY?????

First off I want to say I love il2 and am a huge fan. But since this new patch the problems of unstable and un fixable frame rate is worse. The situation is even worse then before and am not the only person have these problems. And I don't even want to get into the multiplayer issues. Point of the matter is, is that my computer is more then capable of running anything I want. I built it just so I could play this simulator. We get tanks and mouse controls, soon Moscow but we cant fix battle of Stalingrad. This is way not okay. Plus even if we could fix these issue are self's we cant because we no longer have a advanced graphic's setting menu. Why would the devs take that away? I just want the issues fixed, I should not have frame rate issues in campaign mode or glitches on trees, flashing ground textures. FIX IT DEVS please. My computer specs are: windows 7 64 bit, 16 gigs of ram, Radeon r9 290x with 4gigs of ram and fx 8 core processor.       ANYONE ELSE THERE AGREE WITH ME???????

This can be because of the use of 32bits D9D. They should upgrade to 64bits, I don't know why they are still using 32bits...

Do they use that for rise of flight? I play that now and I have it maxed out on graphics and it works well!!! Love that sim!

32 bits does not help of course, but 1.104 was much better in terms of performance, as a result it seems to be related to the 1.105 itself.

no problems here...

Testers should test on mid range configuration indeed, and it would be more efficient lol

Should we all invest in GTX 980 to make it happen ?

I will test the Nvidia settings you provided today anyway, thank you

also try your multiplayer up and down internet setting could cause this, if your running 10 up and 10 down this is the wrong way, it should be half

i.e 10mb down if your isp is 60mb. and 4mb to 6mb up if you up load is 8mb up.

so mine is at 10mb down 4mb up.

I dont think it is reasonable to expect same performance as RoF, there is a large multiple of more complex systems being computed in BoS and expected higher hardware usage particularly CPU which is not really affected too much by turning down settings, unfortunately

although disappointing, you have to be realistic and not expect to run Ultra settings without Ultra equipment, as before, the next few patches will probably have some effect on optimising performance of the 'new tech' introduced recently

Somewhere there was a great and detailed post explaining why 64 bit would have little effect unless the whole Game engine was re-written to take advantage of it (cant find it now) and there would be no point unless it was for a bigger leap to DX12, which would be great, however one must remember how long it took DCS to update their engine for DX11 and the difficulties faced by CloD devs and the time they took to do DX10

Good point Darkpilot, 64 bits is just a plaster on a wooden leg in this context.

The urgent thing is to recover the quite good flight experience we had in 1.104 first

Something changed for sure

Interesting, thank you Mastiff. But can you clarify the details of the network setting, I'm not sure to get it right ...  :rolleyes:

Here are my numbers according to recommendations in Developer Diary #65

Download speed : 37,84 Mbps / 4 = 9.46 (so i should keep roughly 10 ? corresponding to 1024 in startup.cfg)

Upload Speed : 8,46 Mbps (Down speed 1024 / 2 = 512 in Startup.cfg ? )

Startup.cfg :

[KEY = network]
available_ip = "[object Object]"
client_download_traflimit = 1024
client_ip = ""
client_upload_traflimit = 512
downloader_port = 28100
server_download_traflimit = 1000
server_upload_traflimit = 1000
tcp_port = 28000
udp_port = 28000

Thanks in advance m8
