In T-34 (TMFD) sight scales what are for AP and what for HE?

 

 

The small - ДТ -  is for DT mg.

In WT forum is said:

 

"The T-34 sights have: ЩР, БР and ДТ.

ЩР = ShR > I believe it would be Shrapnel Shell

БР = BR > AP

ДТ = DT > DT machinegun"

Yes Sokol, you are right, not that I could read russian, but the left one has to be HE, because for the same range, you have to lift your gun to a higher angle, because of the lower muzzlevelocity of HE- rounds.

Hmm, somehow I got the impression that the left one does not quite scale correctly for HE ammunition.

Left one is AP the first on the right is HE and the last one on the right side is machinegun.

 

The HE one is the one with the gratest range because it is not important how fast the HE projctile is on impact the explosiv in the projctile makes the damge.

The AP projctile has to be fast to penetrate armour if it gets to slow it dosen´t penetrate because of that there is no use in shoting it on targets to far away.

No Gunsmith, here you are wrong. Don´t bother about the higher range at the right side, it is like a 70hp car with a speedometer up to 250km/h.

The normal fightingrange for AP was not more than 1000m and for HE 2000m. On larger distances you just did not hit anything, for the gunsights were just not good enough.

Look at the same range on the left and the right side and you will see, that on the left side you have to lift your gun higher than on the right side, due to the lower muzzlevelocity of the HE rounds.

Yeah the second to left one is definitely AP... Easy to test on normal server because they give the distance to target

Sorry i was wrong the one on the left side is HE. I got a little confused because in later sights there are more markings for HE than for AP but this was not possible on this sight because there was no more place for them.

Currently the HE round has the same trajectory as the AP round btw.

At the distance you are shooting with AP it doesn´t matter anyway, because the marks are allmost the same at AP and HE.
