registration/license key problems

I signed up at this forum in it's earliest days as there was talk that ideas developed here may ultimately be carried back to my beloved ROF and I wanted to keep an eye on what was going on. However I refrained from buying BOS as I have little interest in WWII.

However I've just received a DVD copy of BOS and naturally want to install it, but I'm having real problems getting started and just wanted to check here if anybody had suggestions before contacting customer support.

The game installed fine, which had to be through steam (much to my dislike as I've only ever had problems with it in the past)  asking me for the 15 digit serial key printed in the DVD packaging which it accepted fine generating a 25 digit license code.

When I click the desktop icon to launch the game it says I have to login at least once to initially register it with the devs. Entering the e-mail  and password I've had set up here on this forum for well over a year and which I'm using to post this question on the forum tells me that it's a wrong e-mail and password and I must activate on the website.

If I click the new registration link it takes me here to register a new account where I've had an account since long before acquiring BOS, yet if I try to register the new account using my existing details it naturally tells me these are already in use.

This leaves me in a somewhat of a viscous circle in that I have a license key and I have an account but I can't seemingly tie the two together to get started. I could register under a different details but I don't want to have to set up new e-mail accounts and passwords simply for this

Am I missing something obvious?

Not to worry folks I've got this sorted by somewhat circumventing the accepted procedure the DVD was trying to direct me down and have manually registered the licence key here on the forum.
