That Website's characterization of official German specification sheets as "Nazi Propaganda" looks and smells like crap, if you ask me.

So IF Kurfürst can come up with documents that the DB engines COULD take 5 minutes without any chance of failure then the devs have to model it like that. IMHO that is. Would be just fair since all the YAKs perform like factory new as well. So why shouldnt the DB engines?

 

Of course they could, it is even a question? 5 minute and such time limits were only there as guidance to pilot to prolong engine life.

 

Engines of all nations were type tested by running them several HOURS running at max power (WEP). They did not fail after five minutes, or five, or fifty hours at WEP ratings provided that cooling was sufficient. DB engines were not an exception.
