Which program do you use to convert / edit the trk files into video files?

Do you have an Nvidia card? You can record mp4 with shadowplay.

 

Or use Fraps, Mirrillis or Dxtory

 

So you're not converting the trk file you are recording the gameplay as you play it back or fly in real time.

Does shadowplay require GeForce experience? I am having trouble with GFE. On the latest Nvidia driver set, I think 364.51, my idle clocks are 1126. If I select No to "Do you want to allow screen capture, video, etc" in privacy settings in preferences in GFE, then my clocks go back down to a true idle state at 135. So it's the GFE which is causing this problem. Can you use shadowplay without GFE?

Shadowplay is a component of GFE. You might want to take a look at this: http://www.tweakguides.com/NVFORCE_1.html  Provides lots of info on how to tweak NVidia drivers/GFE and background tasks. I don't currently have GFE installed but I liked the way it worked.
