My hope for ground vehicle future

As a side note, got my controls mapped to my game pad. Everything is working pretty good. My fault for posting suggestions before really trying out what was possible. Anyone who is so sure having ground vehicles in this sim is a bad thing really is missing out on some good fun. Creeping thru a village laying in wait for the enemy is a blast and quite immersive. I finally nailed a T-34 broadside and lit him up. Then one of his buddies nailed me so my celebration was short lived. This was offline but still very enjoyable.

 

The summer map from ground level is impressive. It's been fun just seeing what is possible. I drove off the edge of the bridge to see how deep the water was or if the tank would sink. I was upside down with just the back corner and tread of the tank visible. I didn't sink any further but my crew must've drowned as I died eventually. I think the level of detail for now is perfect. BUT, a year from now when the game matures more and systems hopefully increase in power, the possibilities seem endless.

+1 I was a naysayer at first until I saw their tank video and now I'm 100% behind them especially after that last couple of updates. I'd happily buy a tank addon now.

 

Still yet to have a go at the tanks but I'm looking forward to it and when the good mission builders get stuck in we're going to be in for a treat!

I hope they beat war thunder not only by better gameplay (no crew visibility limitations, etc), better business model but also by better ballistics and penetration physics.

 

They already beat war thunder by what appears to be the actual sight on the t-34

Plus these maps can be way more players and size than what war thunder is doing.

 

The flight experience also seems more raw (good) to me

I'll look forward to the announcement of the third party developer who has seen the potential and taken out a license to produce a fully fledged tank addon for the series.

There was this one game who initially claimed they were going to be a full flight simulator, then they added mouse aim, then they added tanks..

Now it's dog crap and it's called War Thunder. 

Yes and there's 400,000 people playing it.

Hey I want a realistic flight sim too, and if adding in some synergy with the ground war is the way to give it some broader appeal, I'm up for that. And removing the obstacle of owning a joystick for new players is only a good thing. Whatever you want out of this game will only happen if many more people buy it.
