New Player! Trying to learn how to aim with JS

So I came from War Thunder and I am trying to learn how to play this.

I bought myself a cheap joystick off Amazon a while ago and thought I might as well try it with this game.

I can generally fly it's just aiming which I just cannot do.

I've spent a few hours just flying an intercept mission against bombers, struggling to shoot them down with a Joystick, I just can't get my shots on target. I know mouse control was just added but I would really like at least be able to aim with a joystick..

Any tips or advice would be great!

Try with quick missions and activate the aim assistent under the Realisem tab to get a feeling for the shooting.

Once again, I'll wait and see for others to give up some tips, and read them too ! All tips are welcomed on this sim ! :D

Well War Thunde is good to learn shooting with Joystick in their Sim mode, its much easier but it helps when you switch to this game.

You have to understand how the bullets move through the air and dragged down by gravity and if your gun convergence is having an effect

Go to the QM set up a friendly flight and just practice shooting from the dead 6 position and see what happens.

Don't shoot any further away than 200 m

Don't pull on the stick when you fire that makes a mess and the aircraft needs to be as unloaded as possible.

When you kill with ease from dead six you need to learn deflection shooting. which is a completely different story.

when shooting while turning your turn must be coordinated. You always shoot in the directon of your flighpath NOT the direction your nose is pointing.

In the BoS manual page 22 onwards

Set input responses to 70% pitch and yaw, 50% roll and 10% centre dead zones

Under control devices set noise filter to 0.5

Experiment in QMB and slowly reduce settings until you find the 'sweet spot' of control vs sensitivity

Yep I've done this as well especially for pitch. I think I have 50%
