Has the 190's roll rate been improved?

Only flown it a couple of times since the latest release, so I'm not 100% sure, but it appears to have a quicker roll rate.  Anyone else noticed it?  Haven't looked at the release notes yet so maybe it's in there???

It wasn't in the pre-release notes last week. I'd have noticed that! But sadly no flying til next week.

Here's hoping.

I don't think it was broken in the first place? I mean yeah the 190 had a good role rate, but are you factoring in pilot errors?

Hold stick right. Roll. What errors? :D

Afaik it is more like: the other fighters roll too fast, therefore the 190 roll rate is right, but compared to them too slow.

Fighters roll too fast when we apply more stick than was possible in the real thing. See the English test report on the Bf-109E at http://www.pilotfriend.com/flight_reports/reports/33.htm for example:

"At low speeds the aileron control is very good, there being a definite resistance to stick movement, while response is brisk. As speed is increased, the ailerons become heavier, but response remains excellent. They are at their best between 150 mph and 200 mph, one pilot describing them as an 'ideal control' over this range. Above 200 mph they start becoming unpleasantly heavy, and between 300 mph and 400 mph are termed 'solid' by the test pilots. A pilot exerting all his strength cannot apply more than one-fifth aileron at 400 mph."

In game we can apply full aileron deflection with no force at all. Might be different with force feedback but my stick doesn't have that.

Does anyone know if BoS models pilot strength at all when it comes to applying control forces?

It doesn't, except for when you're wounded, then it puts a cap on how much you can move the controls, but it's not related to how much force is needed.

I'm finding it's more twitchy at low speeds but that's all, and that might just be me.

Just played a bit... found no significant differences... maybe just placebo ?

I believe BoS models control stiffness in more than one way, specially for those who are lucky to use a FF controller.

In my case, with just a T.16000, I am satisfied with the filter that is applied to the controls and limits their effectiveness in a way that has to do with amount of deflection available in terms of dynamic pressure.

In the G2, as I reach 700+ km/h the roll becomes really stiff, and although I can't say how much effective deflection we can get, it certainly makes a difference.

In another sim, the effect is even more pronounced, with such speeds imposing a total freeze on roll, and likewise in yaw. Pitch is still possible, specially ( but dangerously ) if we use the stabilator.

Pitch is still possible
you apparently never tried the Mig15?

Tried it for a while, but offered the license to a friend, the same who got me into BoS :-)

I still keep the f86 though...

WW2 mostly BoS7BoM now...

was talking about the pitch thing..when you are flying straight with full power for one minute or so, there is no pitch control anymore  without airbrakes you are lost with this plane. I have them both, doing AI dogfighting with them here and there, due to the lack of multiplayer server. Quite fun.

Same here regarding BoS..once again, i should say.

I think it does. If you get into a high speed dive you'll have trouble trying to pull out.
