6./ZG26_Klaus_Mann Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Well, the Emil with the DB601A is mostly a medium altitude fighter and really just very little good below 2500m but very good up to 6000m However the Emil came with two engine variations, the Aa being better at low altitudes giving better speed and climb there, however it will be quite rubbish above 6000m where the MiG-3s and Peshkas will roam. I basically see the Aa as the better engine for the JaBo guys and close support. The only reason I really see against the DB601Aa as an option is the lack of a soviet counterpiece, like an early Yak-1 with VK-105P or PA or a LaGG-3 series 1-3 with the 5 gun arrangement.
