OCAShader Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 Can anyone explain the fuel gauge on the I-16 ? Is the knob to the right of the fuel gauge that cycles slowly in and out pressurize the fuel tank? and why does the needle keep going to zero and then back again? I have my own ideas on the matter but can't find a solid explanation on it. Thanks ~S~

Guest deleted@50488 Posted November 16, 2015 Posted November 16, 2015 (edited) And using it from time to time, as if the virtual pilot was using it, makes the needle fluctuate ... just like in other aircraft where a single gauge measures the amount of fuel in different tanks, and the virtual pilot alternates between tanks during the flight ... It mimics what you would do, should you be able to click the knob yourself, or use a keyboard or controller shortcut ( maybe in future versions of the sim, although, as far as I am concerned, not really something that I find important at all - important for me is the quality of the flight dynamics and overall physics modelling we have... plus the astounding graphics, etc...). 1CGS Phenazepam Posted September 15, 2016 1CGS Posted September 15, 2016 "Let's me speak from my heart. In English" © I'll try to explain. I-16 has hydrostatic fuel gauge. In fact, knob is a piston of air pump. When knob moved backward, spring coil is compressed. When knob moves forward, the air displaces fuel from sensor. So gauge indicates pressure difference between fuel surface and tank bottom. 1 3

VBF-12_Snake9 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 In favor of activation button instead of ai doing this. Sometimes it takes ages for my pilot to pull his knob. Lol
