Rjel Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Windows 10 AMD Phenom II X6 8 Gigs Ram Nvidia 760 I have to say I'm very pleased with Win10 so far. It's been incredibly stable and BoS has run flawlessly on it. I've not had any issues with any other programs so far either. As a side note, I was pleased with Win7 and had never had a reason to reinstall it from the time of my last build, nearly four years ago. The only problem I had with it were occasional graphics driver crashes which had seemed to increase with frequency over the last year or so. A lot of web searches and experimentation hadn't fixed the issue. This was, as much as anything, my deciding factor to try Win10. When I finally got my upgrade queue, I had nothing but frustration. Failure after failure occurred. More web searches, more experimentation. Still had multiple failures. Finally out of frustration, I decided to reinstall Win7. It took many hours to finally get all the updates reinstalled. I was almost ready to give up and just buy Win10. But after Win7 was brought up to date, the installation of Win10 went flawlessly. Very quickly too. I suspect, somewhere along the way, my Win7 install had become corrupted in some way. Not so much that it didn't still run, and run pretty well at that, but something wasn't right. In hindsight, remembering some of the posts here from people with problems in Bos, I wonder if they too might have some unknown issues with their Windows installs? If nothing else, I'd recommend trying a reinstall of their existing operating system or go for Win10 to see if it might solve their issues.
TG-55Panthercules Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Running Win 8.1 - no problems with BoS that I can relate in any way to the OS version. Avoiding Win 10 like the plague, as long as I possibly can, till the dust settles a bit, though eventually I'm sure they'll force me over to it at some point. I would still be running Win7 if I could have found my Win7 disk when I had to build this system. TBH, I'd still be running Win 98SE if it could run the modern hardware - best Win version I ever used (and I used them all since 3.0, except for Vista - managed to skip that one entirely).
Cybermat47 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Windows 7, though I might change to Windows 10 when Halo Wars 2 comes out.
