WWGeezer Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Is there something historical about the I-16 that the side panels blow off right after take off? Noticed it happens everytime right after I roll out. Was sure I blew out the landing gear or something the first time it happened.
Feathered_IV Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Same reason strange people might wander into your house after you get home. You need to shut the door behind you after you've gotten in. 1

216th_Peterla Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 You need to close them as you are closing the cockpit. Check which command you have asigned to it. Regards
SvAF/F19_Klunk Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Same Button i think to shut Canopy with 1
TheElf Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 close your canopy. You can do this before engine start...
EAF19_Marsh Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 If I had a £/£/€ for every time I have forgotten to do that...
Brano Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I forget to close that side "flap-doors" much too often.First time they ripped off I also thought that smtg from landing gear went off.Reflying the mission on and on I realised that Im constantly taking off with doors open
-TBC-AeroAce Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Lol been flying this plane a lot and never noticed this. I'm going back to normal lol
indiaciki Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I love flying the 109 with an open canopy :D
WWGeezer Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 Awwww man! I figured it was an open canopy, never noticed the cute little half doors Thanks for clearing it up!
Feathered_IV Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I must admit I've done it heaps of times myself. Just as my tail wheel comes up I hear a ripping crunch and curse the guy who I think is vulching me. Clawing my way into the air I look frantically around and think, Phew! He must have fled... Then I get the wheels up and settle onto course while musing how 777 didn't quite get the shape of the cockpit right
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 R-Alt+C this will solve your door problem right away.
