Blitzen Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I remember that night missions over the Winter maps ( esp.Stalingrad) flyers could be met by searchlights & flak.Has anyone found this still to be true on missions or quick missions on the new map?
Endy Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Just tried a quick mission, searchlights on there too. Don't forget to turn on targets, AAA etc.

Endy Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Blitzen --- When you set up a quick mission, look at the map, and where there are a lot of red circles all together, that is probably an enemy airfield. Aim to go in that direction.

Endy Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I just tried another this time on the Lapino map, my one plane against ground targets. Works fine. I set the time to 0100, but I don't think that it's crucial.
senseispcc Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 In the new part of the campaign landing at dusk or at nigth is more easy because the way lights are placed and flares are fired.
Trooper117 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Yes, I was the only IL2 to make it back tonight, my other three members of the flight were all shot down by a mob of G2's. They also killed all the Lagg 3's that were my escort. Shot up, gunner killed, engine damaged, flying at only 20ft or so off the deck, jinking and weaving to spoil their aim, they followed literally all the way back to base, one of them crashing as I was flying so low. I was very glad to see those flares go up as I neared the airfield, and then the flare pots illuminated to indicate where I needed to be as I was so badly damaged that I couldn't do a normal approach... Gear down, flaps down, touch down happened very quickly, the engine gave up almost immediately, but I had made it As stated, the night time airfield approach system is pretty good.
