SCG_Tzigy Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 i think u can but why? reloading will repair files/installation/update?
Cavemanhead Posted November 11, 2015 Author Posted November 11, 2015 I've already got the latest version and I was worried that the "new" install would dork things up (especially if it is older)... That said, I "cancelled" out of that part of the initial install and it appears to be working...
Gunsmith86 Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Install it even if you have it allready thats the best way to prevent any future problems.
Bando Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Always let those third parties install their thing when they're mixed into the sim. If not, you might end up with a sim that won't start at all.

TG-55Panthercules Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Not sure if it works exactly the same way for BoS as in RoF, but in RoF you need to let the installer install all the third party/DirectX stuff - RoF needs those specific (old) DirectX 9 elements that many newer machines do not have on them, and if you don't let the game install those parts you are very likely to have problems with the game down the road (might not notice them immediately, but they'll probably crap out at some point).
Sokol1 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) If you cancel the DX install, the game dont open because missing some d3d9.dll... Edited November 12, 2015 by Sokol1
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) yes! don't do it, just because you already have it installed on your OS doesn't mean the correct files are installed in the game. So from now on when a game ask you to install a critical component, do it! if you read the readme install for the DX setup it even tells you to install it, that it will only update what you need.
