I've already got the latest version and I was worried that the "new" install would dork things up (especially if it is older)...  That said, I "cancelled" out of that part of the initial install and it appears to be working...

Install it even if you have it allready thats the best way to prevent any future problems.

Always let those third parties install their thing when they're mixed into the sim.

If not, you might end up with a sim that won't start at all.

It can't install older components, installer updates DX if needed, if not just lets it be.

Not sure if it works exactly the same way for BoS as in RoF, but in RoF you need to let the installer install all the third party/DirectX stuff - RoF needs those specific (old) DirectX 9 elements that many newer machines do not have on them, and if you don't let the game install those parts you are very likely to have problems with the game down the road (might not notice them immediately, but they'll probably crap out at some point).

If you cancel the DX install, the game dont open because missing some d3d9.dll...

yes! don't do it, just because you already have it installed on your OS doesn't mean the correct files are installed in the game.

So from now on when a game ask you to install a critical component, do it!

if you read the readme install for the DX setup it even tells you to install it, that it will only update what you need.
