Loving BoS right now, really.

But in anything more than a 1 on 1 my old gtx 580 just isnt keeping up. I can take everything down to low settings and reduce resolution and the old girl just cant keep up decent frame rates.

My i7 2600k @ 4.5 chuggs along nicely, but the gpu, well, time to put her out to pasture...*sniff, loads shotgun...*

So how are the 970's doing with this sim? Any reason to really splurge on a 980?

Very dependant on resolution, at 1080p a 970 is adequate, at higher res it is possible to run out of Vram with eye candy turned up

For your info, yesterday I did one test to check my GTX970 with the last Il2 BoS update.

My native resolution it's 1200p, but I'm using DSR 1600p in this test, with Ultra preset, AA4x, SSAO off, HDR on, and distance of vision x4.

 

Ok., my result using fraps is MIN 30 fps, AVG about 52 fps and MAX 60fps, using vsync, and I'm playing online with about 30 users in the DED Normal server, a dogfight server with all people killing in the same zone.

 

(normaly I'm playing at 1200p, the contacts are easy to see at my native screen resolution, better than 1600p, but it's possible to solve this with changing DSR correction)

 

This with one I5 4690k at 4,5ghz.

Your I7 at this speed it's a bad beast, you can put the graphic card that you want or can pay, and all games will run smooth, I'm sure.

 

If I can play at 1600p with one GTX970, why to pay for one GTX980?

Quite same, have an gtx 570. . . i was suprise how bad the GPU handle this game compared to other fly games, i have here worse visuals and worse FPS :/ quite sad.

 

 

But my biggest problem is that i can't costum config the game... only "low to Ultra" thats sucks... why
