Failed to Update

Mods, please leave this here at least for a little bit.

 

The update is downloading fine, but it hangs and I get the "failed to update" error after the "unpacking files" message.

Is there a fix for this other than re-downloading the entire sim? I have a very slow connection and this would

take 5 days or so.

 

Been away for over a year, and really wanting to check out the new map etc, but no luck getting this thing updated.

Not an expert here, but someone had the same problem last week because they were away while the game was still in beta. Try searching for 'update problem'. Good luck!

No idea if this would help, but try deleting the "Updates" folder in the BoS directory.

The October 2014 dev diary (if that's when you stopped playing) suggests performing a clean install, not sure if that's it though.

I'd pay to get the base/bulk of the sum on disk.

Hope deleting the update cache worked for you.  It worked for me when I had the same problem a while back.
