MilAvHistory Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) NSFW, I did swear. Within reason. But I did. Edited November 10, 2015 by =LD=Bis18marck70
TP_Jacko Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 (edited) Lol very funny and you survived to have a good laugh. I think this looked like a newbie so could be forgiven. If it was a cross field charger I would be really anoyed Edited November 10, 2015 by TP_Jacko

If it had been a crossfielder, I think I would have had to *beep* a lot of words out. Edited November 10, 2015 by =LD=Bis18marck70
andyw248 Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Well, at least he gave you a good demonstration of his skills
Weegie Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Wulf kindly sent me a track showing boom & zoom tactics in the 190. Really good track, real skillful flying on his part and full of action. At the end he gets clipped but gets the wounded bird down on the runway then pulls off onto the grass. 2 seconds later a 190 attempts to take off and slams right into him BOOM!!! I keep meaning to edit the footage I have of it, the track got trashed when the game was upgraded and now won't play :o( 1
Ace_Pilto Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 You can clearly see him pulling onto the runway. Why compound his stupidity with your own by landing when it is unsafe? That's what they call "land-at-all-costs-itis" a terminal disease in pilots.

I observed the airfield before I made the turn (at which point the video starts - so you don't see the previous spectacle). The Pe-2 was on the runway just before the fighter you see taking off. He had started his take off, ran into the grass, bumped around and stopped facing away from the runway. At that point I thought he had enough (as can be seen his aircraft has already damage on his left rudder etc - I didn't see that but expected it) and would re-spawn. Then I started my turn, and went final. I still saw him on the grass but again did not think that he'd suddenly turn around and go back on the airstrip with the same plane. Might be stupid of me but I didn't expect that. And when he started pulling to the runway, I had basically touched down already. Sure, maybe it was stupid not to take into account the possibility that someone who had essentially wrecked parts of his aircraft to run amok into the middle of the runway in an attempt to take of an aircraft he can't control because reasons...
Ace_Pilto Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Yeah fair enough, it's different in the hot seat. Expect the worst and hope for the best nich wahr? 1
