Verdict on BOS after being away for a year.

Last year I uninstalled BOS in rage and frustration mostly because of the unlock grind but multible other issues contributed, I even asked for a refund:p. One week ago I was thinking about BOS and was curious, so I went into the forums and read that we now have gotten a summer map and I saw some other intresting changes so I decided to reinstall and check it out.

 

This was the best decision I have ever made when it comes to flight sims:), the game certainly has improved alot, performs alot better, more players alllowed in multiplayer and I swear even the graphics somehow look better? All the new improvements make me don't care about the damn unlock grind, and Im now hooked on this sim. All Il2 BOS needed was to mature abit:)

 

So thanks to the developers for this awsome simulation, Im now ready to buy BOM and anything else that follows

 

One thing I would like to see improved though is the draw distance on trees, buildings and grass, still annoys me abit, just a slight increase would make the scenery so much better(a slider in the settings to increase it would be nice).

It's coming along nicely and although I'm an optimistic supporter I think it has a ways to go yet. But there is a lot of progess and some of the recent additions have been fantastic! The new summer and autumn scenery and campaign have been a great addition to the series.

 

I'm honestly having so much fun with the BoM planes that have been released so far. You should check it out.

 

You may also want to know that if you have the Premium version (I see you don't) of IL-2:BoS you can skip the unlocks through the website account now. Press a button and unlock all the extra features. You just missed a sale but I'd say wait for the next sale and pick up the La-5 and FW190 and you'll be counted as having Premium.

There are still a load of issues that warrant a fix along the way, but I think most of us can see, that we're getting there, while at the same time getting new content, the two are not mutually exclusive.

 

Will we ever see it all fixed to create the 'perfect' sim? I doubt it, but with every little step the sim elevates itself higher and higher above it's predecessors to become yet another legend of the flight sim world.
