indiaciki Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 just asking. I was flying inverted for a couple of minutes. Don't know if that is realistic. Another minor thing: siren when flaps down gear up would be great:) great update, great plane !
Finkeren Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Depends on how much fuel is in the tank I think. The DB engine has direct fuel injection so no carbuerator to starve. It all depends on whether or not the fuel pump can effectively extract fuel from the tank in inverted flight. If the tanks are completely full there's a good chance enough fuel can be pumped to keep the engine running for quite a while in inverted flight.
Bullets Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 I thought the reason the engines that were fuel injected died was because of oil starvation... nothing to do with fuel?
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 It was a problem in for most/all AC in EA. make a bug report and it will get addressed for sure. In the rush to get content out there will be omissions and patches.
indiaciki Posted November 9, 2015 Author Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) i was flying with a full fuel tank Edited November 9, 2015 by indiaciki
Finkeren Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I thought the reason the engines that were fuel injected died was because of oil starvation... nothing to do with fuel? Yeah, that's an issue too. Forgot about that.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I thought the reason the engines that were fuel injected died was because of oil starvation... nothing to do with fuel?In reality oil stsrvation was the primary threat (doesnt happen instantly, but the Ju88 manual for example prohibits any inverted flight and continuesly pulled negative Gs. Short manouveres with neg G are allowed though). It's not modeled ingame though but only fuel starvation.
Brano Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 just asking. I was flying inverted for a couple of minutes. Couple of minutes does not sound like forever to me.When stating "forever" in the name of the topic, you should be still flying inverted now and ofcourse forever
Potenz Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I thought the reason the engines that were fuel injected died was because of oil starvation... nothing to do with fuel? yes Planes can't fly inverted for prolonged periods of time due to Oil starvation
