Hi, Loving the game and tentatively dipped into the multiplayer but im having problems taxing in any of the bombers on the WOL server. Ju87 and He111 both would'nt even move. I tried wheel brakes / but 0 luck, Please put me out of my misery.

Many thanks

Pitch to full fine and full gas should get you moving. No need for parkingbrakes etc.

Thanks amigo...that seems to work, i finally was able to taxi and get airborne but after a short while engine died and i lost alt and crashed? this happened twice with stuka and heinkel. I did get an "engine damaged" yellow tab icon on the right and throttled back to 96%...i guess that must be it? I need to manage the engines carefully yeah...as well as navigate and get weapons on target....it's certainly challenge.

You cant have the engine run high RPM for too long. On either the 87 and the HE.

Check in the forums there should be lpnety of information wich ATA and RPM you can have to engines run for how long.

For Stuka you can have full RPM and ATA just for takeoff. Also dont forget to open radiators. Theyre manual for both bombers.

After takeoff go back to 1.2 ATA and 2400 RPM on the stuka. Engine should be able to maintain that for like half an hour before dying. But like i said i am no Stuka pro. So better check forums for mre qualified information.

RTFM ;)

Available in Forum Manuals section - IL-2 User Manual   :)  has all aircraft engine operating limits

I make manuals all day long!

Look, i really do appreciate any feedback and i am working my way through the manual and requiem's excellent video tutorials. I am a long time flight simmer of at least 15 yrs so not exactly a noob but get that there will always be something more to learn. The "learning curve" holds no fear for me but...

In the back of my mind, i'm thinking, strategically from the devs viewpoint....they must have lost so many new players who might have pushed on with the game but instead said F-it, i've had enough of this, i'm going back to WT or whatever. I don't see the servers packed out with players and i don't see any concessions from the devs toward encouraging new players. Like you say, RTFM is the best advise at the moment but surely there could be a better learning curve for real noobs? just a thought.

Last night on WOL i heard a player remonstrating with another saying, "go back to WT"...and it made me sad to think that a small minority of players (i know most of the community are very mature and excellent players) have this smug elitism (i'm great, you're shit). Not thankfully you guys i might add, i'm always impressed by most people's willingness to be helpful.

So here's to you guys and here's:

To the Volga!

But newbies dont start with the "arcade" mode, airstart and unlimited ammo?  ;)

One issue is MP servers don't inform the "difficult" setting, specially in the case of WoL in what people tend to join because is the one that have more players, but I see people asking in the (WoL) CHAT (that last briefly and don't have "historic" ): "How start the engine?"...   Imagine explain RPM, mixture...

I tried the He111 last night and it was stuck fast. I found giving it a lot of power and pushing the stick forward lifted the tail up (mind the blades!) and got it free. It may have been a one off occasion though. Be careful though, it will shoot forwards when free. Not ideal when you have started right perpendicular to the runway.

@ Broadsword & LANcastermandrake

Plane spawn sometime outside of the parking and are stuck in deep snow. The terrain friction changed in 1.104 and this is the reason why you had so much difficulties to get out of the trap.

In general avoid taxiing in deep snow or high grass area and keep track of the taxiing path if you want to avoid the problem ;)

@ WoL team, a double check to the spawn areas would be welcome ;)

Thanks everyone.

I'm aware of how and where to taxi, Madison. It is spawning off of the taxi ways/ aprons that I have no say over.
