Recon Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Does the game have any in game way to setup joystick profiles /rudder pedal settings? (the planes feel 'mushy' to me so I wanted to setup a profile) Edited November 1, 2015 by AKA_Recon 1
Siipiorava Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 (edited) Main Menu -> settings -> Key mapping -> plane controls -> plane control: pitch/roll/yaw -> the square with a picture of a curve at the end of the column there you will have menu of "Input responses"" where you can edit Sensitivity, center dead zone and dead zone from edges. Sokol1 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 In game only option for set sensitivity and deadzone. What people advise is play with sensitivity, try starting with 50% and making adjusts. For set curves (like DCS) you need external soft, like TARGET, Manager, SST (HOTAS software).
Trooper117 Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 What I'd like to know is exactly what all these different response curves and settings are for...
Dakpilot Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 The manual gives a fairly good description Cheers Dakpilot
KoN_ Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 What I'd like to know is exactly what all these different response curves and settings are for... Some people are suffering with responces with certain joysticks , if you pull back on your stick quickly you will go into a stall , flip over , loose control , adding a curve will add feeling to the planes behaviour . Adding a weight factor . there is a software call Vjoy were you can add deadzones and curves . http://vjoystick.sourceforge.net/site/index.php/download-a-install/72-download
HippyDruid Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 What I'd like to know is exactly what all these different response curves and settings are for... It will make you your joystick more or less sensitive. I used to use them all the time in RoF till I bought a FFB joystick. Now I don't bother with them at all.
KoN_ Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) http://www.xedocproject.com/joystickcurves/setup.exe Try this .... Add Roll , pitch, and yaw . Edited November 2, 2015 by II./JG77_Con
Sokol1 Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 Sensitivity add a "reduction" factor in joystick axis input send for game, you move joystick 30% but game receive only 25%, smoothing your inputs. But in end of axis course the response match, 100% of joystick movement, 100% response in game. image upload no ads In the picture aileron axis, white pointer the game response. I think for joystick with extension this not needed, since the extension add throw to grip movement, you tend command less throw. For example, to move the aileron ~5 degrees is need move the grip in a extend stick ~5 cm instead ~1 cm with short stick. But when you move the grip for end of his course the game move the control surface 100%. 1
SharpeXB Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) "Sensitivity" is just adding an "S" curve to your stick movement but it's not showing that graphically like Rise of Flight or some other games do. But the effect is the same. With a tabletop joystick you need to have the sensitivity set at maybe 20-30% especially in pitch to compensate for the fact that your stick has a much shorter lever than the real thing. A stick with an extension doesn't have that problem. Rise of Flight has another issue that is not present in BoS since most of the planes have no trim features. That requires more fine tuning but it's not an problem here. Edited November 2, 2015 by SharpeXB
