Converting QMB mission - what am I doing wrong?

The mission editor is generally beyond me, but in RoF it was pretty easy to start a QMB mission, close the game, open up the mission files left from the QMB in the Mission Editor and resave it as a new mission under a different name, creating a mission that you could fly from the list of "missions" on the game's menu screen.  I used that a lot to create photo ops with flights of planes with skins I wanted pictures of. (After saving the new mission down with the Mission Editor, I would just open up the .Mission file in notepad and change the name of the skins that QMB had assigned to my flight to whichever skins I wanted to use.)

I tried doing the same thing with a QMB mission from BoS to get some screenshots of the new maps and skins, but it isn't working.  It seems to work at first - I can open up the QMB mission file in the Mission Editor and resave it under a different name, and the files all seem to be there when viewed in Windows Explorer, but in the game the new saved mission does not show up on the list so I can't select and fly it.

Is this just not possible to do with BoS?  If it's possible, is there some secret to doing it that I'm missing here?

Try this:

1.Close BoS and the Mission Editor.

2.In your games folder under the data subfolder, delete the file mtreecache.eng.

The file is rebuilt when you start BoS.

Thanks for the tip, but no joy.  After doing that I still do not see the mission on the in-game list, even though the files are there in Windows Explorer.

I did notice that there's an extra file in the new/resaved test mission (a .list file) that doesn't exist in the group of files left from the QMB mission - is that significant?

You could also try deleting ctreecache.eng too, but I'm not sure if it will help.

Not sure about the .list file you mentioned.

Thanks - but again no joy.  Even tried removing all 9 of the various treecache files, but my test mission still doesn't show up in the game.

In case it might help, I've uploaded the test mission files here:  http://www.mediafire.com/download/d05opzqxn5c6546/TG-55_tests.zip

Perhaps someone can look at them and see if anything jumps out as to why this mission won't show up?

Well, I'm not sure why it started working (I did a few things, including changing the mission type from quick skirmish to single), but eventually one of the test missions started showing up on the list, so I took it for a spin.

Still gonna have to try to figure out a way to replicate this without all the trial and error, but at least for now I was able to get the shot I wanted:

Thanks for the help!

If you open the mission in the editor what type of game does it show e.g. deathmatch , singleplayer etc. It should be singleplayer to shiw in the missions list.

The .list file holds information on the location of your mission i have only seen this in deaghmatch type.

Now i read the post again the mission type must be singleplayer to show in the mission list menu
