PatrickAWlson Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 Was hoping somebody could explain the different atmosphere options, or one aspect of them anyway. 00_clear_00 The first two numbers are apparent - 00 always is clear, 01 is always light, etc. The name is obvious, and it always has a direct correlation to the first two numbers. Which leaves the last two numbers. Every set has 00 - 09. i.e. 00_clear_00, 00_clear_01, 00_clear_02, ... 00_clear_09. What is the significance of the last two numbers? Thanks.
coconut Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 The two last numbers provide different cloud patterns including, I think (but I'm not sure), the cloud layer altitude and thickness. I don't know if the numbers 00..09 mean anything, other than that they serve to distinguish between the alternatives.
JimTM Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 In my tests, the last two numbers seem to relate to the amount of high-level cirrus (wispy) cloud present (00=none, 05=some, 09=lots). The words light, medium, heavy, and overcast represent the amount of low-level cumulus (puffy) cloud present. I noticed that the low-level clouds in 02-medium-09 look a lot like the ones in 03-heavy-00.
No601_Swallow Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 The lack of customization in terms of cloud altitude, etc, is something it would be handy for the Dee's to think about. In my humbles.
TP_Jacko Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 I would be happy just to change the height of the cloud base
