6./ZG26_Loke Posted October 31, 2015 Posted October 31, 2015 S! I find the climb rate for the Ju-87 and He-111 so poor, that I can hardly believe it's been modelled correctly. I have followed the instructions from Chucks guide, and I still fly constanly on the edge of a stall. And that is with a climb rate swinging between 0 and 300. If that was to be realistic, I do believe that these aircrafts never would have been put into production.
Bando Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 Are you full of fuel and bombs? If so, gentle climbing is what you'd expect. If you can hardly climb while the aircraft is empty, there's something wrong. I do not see any problems on my install with these 2 aircraft. They behave as I'd expected. Hope it helps.
L3Pl4K Posted November 1, 2015 Posted November 1, 2015 With 1000 litre fuel and 2x sc1000 heinkle should climb 5-6m/s at 240-250km/h. You should trim the plane for climb. Stuka should climb with sc 1800 and half fuel 5m/s in winter condition.
6./ZG26_Loke Posted November 1, 2015 Author Posted November 1, 2015 Are you full of fuel and bombs? With bomb(s) and approx 50% fuel. You should trim the plane for climb How much trim do you usually use?
[DBS]Prody Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 (edited) i love He111 but the fuel restriction on campaign mode is horrible i have to fly with five times more fuel than i need and i can't do anything about it . Climbing with two 1800 kg bombs and so much fuel is just a big pain . I\ve started to use 4x250 kg bombs if i want an easy climb to 4000 m . 2x 1000 kg is the highest i can go if i don't want to curse the plane every five seconds . On a single player mission if i use 15% fuel i can climb with 2x1800 kg unless some really bitchy wind doesn't ruin my day. Also, i would love if someone will offer some advice about trimming the plane for better climb . Edited November 8, 2015 by [RO]ThePrody
Finkeren Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 How much trim do you usually use? Except for trim preset for takeoff you really can't put exact values on trim, it's something yuo have to adjust continuously and may vary a great deal depending on altitude, pressure, temperature and turbulence. When trimming for climb, you should set the trime so that you can let go of the joystic and have the plane maintain a stable airspeed and stable rate of climb - simple as that. Though of course you'll have to adjust it along the way as altitude increases.
L3Pl4K Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 Though of course you'll have to adjust it along the way as altitude increases. yes 240km/h is best climb speed. adjust the trim in little steps.
6./ZG26_Loke Posted November 8, 2015 Author Posted November 8, 2015 Thanks for the info Finkeren & L3PI4K, much appreciated .
[DBS]Prody Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 (edited) a video with an experienced pilot showing how to climb a He111 with 2x1800 kg bombs will be amazing and very useful Edited November 9, 2015 by [RO]ThePrody
[DBS]Prody Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 well... a big thank you for making me aware of how important trimming the pitch is for climbing this thing, now i can climb easily to 5000 m without ever stalling the plane, it takes me about 25 minutes with 2x1000 kg bombs and about 40 minutes with 2x1800 kg , 30% fuel and the optional lower gun turret ( which i think adds some extra weight ) .
