taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 HI. I'm experiencing odd flight characteristics in campaign mode, these I do not experience in any other mode. Flying all the aircraft in all the other mission choices they fly as smooth as silk, I can take my hand off the stick and the plane is as steady as a rock, if I do that while in campaign mode the plane wanders all over the place, also trying to keep the plane on target is all most impossible because the plane is constantly bobbing. I fly a simple game, no full realism so i have most of my setting set accordingly, the worrying part about this is, I have posted this in the general discussion forum explaining this experience but most have replied saying that they see no difference with a planes flight behavior in either mode of BoS ? Because of this experience I have a tendency to stay away from campaign mode, which is a shame ! I understand that there are some setting in campaign which are fixed [ amount of gun ammo ] but is there nothing else i can do to have the planes behave as they do in other aspects of the game. Cheers. Geforce GTX 970 CPU i5-2500K 3.30 Ghz 8 GB Ram OS- Windows 7
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 29, 2015 1CGS Posted October 29, 2015 The physics and the flight models are the same, regardless of what mode in which you are playing the game.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks for your reply, and what you say may well be correct, but in my case, it is not. So is there any advice which i could try, or is it a case of something odd which i will have to live with ! Cheers. JM.
1CGS LukeFF Posted October 29, 2015 1CGS Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks for your reply, and what you say may well be correct, but in my case, it is not. Sorry, but that's just not the case. You have the same game version everyone else has.
Dakpilot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Sounds like more of a case of having different settings/option in campaign compared to QMB Cheers Dakpiot
JtD Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Yes, I'd also expect settings and/or conditions...maybe there's a problem with settings not quite working as they are supposed to? The FM as such is indeed the same.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) 1. Check your setting. 2. Did you trim your aircraft properly? If not trimmed aircraft will show the behaviour you described. As a side note, trim is automaticly set to a certain value once each mission starts. If you have air spawn it migh be set differently than if you took off from the ground. Second one is my bet. taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks All. I thought that by selecting easy flight physics this would be the settings for all modes, campaign included, I know that I can alter trim whilst in the cockpit, but is there any other means of changing settings for campaign mode.
Dakpilot Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 I think in Campaign you need to select custom and turn on whichever 'easy options' that you want Cheers Dakpilot
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks, Firstly I'm trying the trim options, I can see the options labeled in a/c controls, i'v been trying to adjust in cockpit, but cant see the trim wheel turning ?
coconut Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Couldn't it simply be wind and turbulence? I don't think you get to control those in the campaign, and they are off by default in quick missions, and that could be the difference.
taffy2jeffmorgan Posted October 29, 2015 Author Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks Coconut. That's an interesting thought, its a shame that setting selections that when selected do not apply to all modes throughout BoS.
