It's different now, is intentional? Could we have back the previous one?

In my opinion the engine actually sounds much, much improved.

I don't say it is bad even if i still prefer the original one, i only say it's sound too much different from the other DBs that sound almost the same (standard DB i mean).

We know, DB sound is a dangerous land......but why we need always to change somenthing that's almost perfect (at least in our the Daimler-Benz feel)?

I've looked it up in FMod and it's basicly half new half the same. What they changed is the prop noise, which is more crisp and clearer now (as it probably should). The engine noise itself (which is a different sample) remained the same as before.

If this requires a tweak I'd probably tone the prop noise a little bit down to give more emphqsize on the engine though I've yet to hear a DB601 E running from inside a cockpit.

The new one is very impressive, a great improvement IMO.

I would say the Friedrich's engine is the closest to the Daimler-Benz sound and that the other 109's could do with similar improvements in sound quality.

Actually, I hope the entire audio-base gets reviewed at some point... Weapons, engines, ordinance, etc.
