Felix58 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I was working my way through Prangster's tutorial. The last step of the train chapter is to place the train objects in a "German Train" group. I did not realise it at the time but I included the German Airfield Group and the 109G Fakefield objects, i.e., these are now sub-Groups within the German Train Group. I can delete these items from the Train group but I would rather extract them. Is this possible? thx
Sim Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Groups are just organisational unit for mission designer - they don't play any role in mission logic. AFAIK you cannot move one group to another, you will need to ungroup (select group icon, right click and use "Ungroup" menu) and then re-organize your items in a new group hierarchy.
Menacing_Ferrets Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Save. Set train group as working. Click outside of the train group's yellow box to de-select everything. Select group you want to "extract". Hit control c to copy or control x to cut. Reset working group. Paste your "extracted" group and re-position it. If you used copy, then go back into the train group and delete the group you just duplicated. Since you save religiously using CUT is a bit faster than COPY. Save to file groups (replacing train one if needed). Save mission. Not sure what step in to and step out of group do as I've never seen those buttons light up as usable.
JimTM Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 ... Not sure what step in to and step out of group do as I've never seen those buttons light up as usable. I believe that those are for the terrain editor, not the mission editor.
