TP_Jacko Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I had a really annoying bug in a mission I was testing. I had a flight group that was working with no problems. The I noticed after some time it did not activate the group. I checked and double checked re-ran the mission etc etc and nothing would make it work as it used to. Luckily I had a previous version of the game so deleted the group from my current mission and imported the same group from the back up mission. Boom it worked. I can see no difference in the groups but for some reason one stopped. So for me best practice will be to save each group I modify once its working in case something corrupts part of the mission again. Maybe the ME database misses an object when its resorting the objects as you add new ones in. 1
IRRE_Golgoth21 Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Yes, you are right. Once you have a sequence working correctly, it's mandatory to convert it as a group and export it as a template. I experienced many times a map getting crazy after many and many updates. Once i start from a fresh one and then i import the groups i saved in the previous versions of the map, everything works fine then.
coconut Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Missions getting crazy can happen due to the text and binary mission files falling out of sync, typically the binary one. Delete it, reload mission, save again. Note that even if you choose to open the text file, the binary file will be loaded if it's found. 1
