Cavemanhead Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Reliability is first priority followed by speed. I've got a GTX 970 FTW+
No_85_Gramps Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 358.50 is the latest WHQL driver, I had no issues with it on a 750Ti. There is also a hotfix driver out there, 358.59, that I am using, again w/o any issues. Of course, knowing NVIDIA and MS, it can be a bit of a crap-shoot at times.
Cavemanhead Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Thanks for info... Hotfix means it's a patch to the WHQL driver?
Dakpilot Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 With GTX970 i found less performance with 358.50 rolled back to 353.82 and performance returned, was a big difference, have seen a few people had issues with that latest driver, however I did have some internet problems during the installation of 358.50 so that may have caused a problem, this has been the first time ever I have had to uninstall and go back to a previous version whether it was my fault or the drivers I cannot properly say, I usually always install latest WHQL driver, will wait for the next one before I change this time Cheers Dakpilot
No_85_Gramps Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 I would imagine Nvidia's focus is on drivers for the 900 series cards and all else is probably in legacy mode. Caveman, you can always check Guru3d.com when a new driver is released to see users opinions/issues, also Nvidia's site itself. And yes, a hotfix driver is a non-whql update.
Cavemanhead Posted October 22, 2015 Author Posted October 22, 2015 Well, I was just wondering what folks werte most successful with -- fishing for comments like this one: "however I did have some internet problems during the installation of 358.50 so that may have caused a problem, this has been the first time ever I have had to uninstall and go back to a previous version". Serendipity would be finding a few simmers that fly BOS, DCS, COD, and P3D and have a good driver common to all those sims which I plan to be using... Thanks.
dburne Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 I am currently running 358.59 with no issues. Mainly in DCS.
