Finkeren Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) Yes. Plain and simply. If you want more detail: You've got by far the lightest plane in the sim, with by far the best T/W ratio, the best acceleration at low speed, the lowest wing loading (among the fighters) a very good climb rate at all speeds, the lowest stall speed of any fighter, easy spin recovery (automatic recovery in most circumstances), effective, well harmonized controls, a compact design that gives high agility and by far the best roll rate at low air speed in the sim, a nice all-round field of vision and pleasant and easy ground handling. It has a few downsides: It stalls more violently than some other fighters, it has no trim, the engine has a tendency to overrev' in a dive, the dashboard is hard to see unless you sit all the way back in the seat and the manual gear and flaps are extremely slow to operate (you can forget about using flaps to aid you during sharp maneuvers) It also doesn't quite have the rocket climb of the Bf 109s. All in all: It's tons of fun to fly and a pure-bred aerobatics plane. Edited October 16, 2015 by Finkeren
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 I know it's only two seconds, but this video has some short footage of I-16s performing at an air show. Go to around 0:40. Those snap rolls made me fall in love with the Ishak when I first watched them, so I'm spreading the love Look out for the rest of the 6 video series too, some awesome Great Patriotic War air footage!
