The game crashes too often. Does anyone know how to fix this??

I dont know why, but BoS crashes quite often.
I'm not the only one with this problem atm.
Pretty much all the people i fly together are having the same problem (the online flying squadron people), and I also see other players getting randomly disconnected and connecting back during in multiplay.

The game also crashes when i watch my replays sometimes too.

 

Some may suggest that BoS is still in development, therefore those unexpected glitches can happen just like RoF did in the past.
But i'd say quite otherwise.

BoS is based on the same engine with RoF.

I believe those glitches should be addressed through the expriences devs gained through RoF already, isnt it?

Plus, its been a while after BoS was officially launched.

Its so frustrating that this issue is still not fixed after all this time.

 

Does anyone know how to fix this problem or make it better by tweaking some files in the IL-2 BoS folder or something?

If you have a good internet connection a re-install would be a good idea, after backing up your settings

 

There have been more than 1000 updates since the last compulsory 're-instalation' at end of BoS early access

 

Older replays made in a different game version will often cause a crash, annoying but a fact of life also with other games including old IL-2

 

While in a perfect world all updates should install seamlessly and games should never need a reinstall, a once a year fresh start is a good way to avoid deep seated game issues that would otherwise  be hard to troubleshoot

 

Some people have noticed big improvements with stability from making a fresh start.

 

IF you have a good fast internet connection I would recommend a delete and re-install to avoid chasing your tail, and give the best start to optimising settings

 

For all those that suffer very annoying stability issues, there are those who don't seem to have this problem (not much help for those that do , I know )​

I see not much point of re-installing my BoS so far since its pretty much up to date.

My computer was broken few months ago and i had to reinstall all the games after fixing it.

So my BoS is less than 5 months old and ive got all the latest patches.

Yet, im still getting this random disconnecting problems (When i get disconnects, i can still speak to ppl on TS and the game also doesnt warns me about having high pings. So i guess its not really my internet problem)

 

I heard that BoS Steam version seems unstable compare to the standalone versions.

Currently Im assuming that this might be a problem caused by Steam.

MMM since you don't post specs I'm going to take a wild guess and say you don't meet the proper minimum hardware requirements, so your in here spouting off about your problem and not the games?

Sorry but I think this post is rude! I have more than enough ummph from my rig and I get the same as op on mp.

 

I think a reinstall is probably worth it!!!!

Without doing a reinstall you wont know if it can be fixed. It's not that bad if you backup the relevant folders. I've had all kinds of problems in the last few months but most have be cured with a reinstall & making sure I delete all the folders after removing.

Always good to put your system specs in your sig and mention game/graphic settings, it MAY not be in your case, but too high settings/hardware issues can lead to instability in certain situations
