I'm having a blast with the p40. Hard to argue with 6 50's.

Both are a lot of fun and each can do a couple of things really well, while being sorely lacking in most other aspects.

The I-16 is good fun in ground attack role, but I much prefer the P-40 for everything else.

I know the P40 is a much better gun platform than the "Ishak"... but I love the I16; pure fun!

Take the I-16 up to 6000m and you will be the most annoying player in the world. It's a great counter to the Luftwaffe Space Program. Make 1 mistake while flying that I-16 at that altitude, you're dead.

Take the Lagg up to that altitude and you will be a cosmonaut.

Well, I guess I'm going mercenary. I can't Message you privately right now, but I guess it's about FDF. Personally I leave the space program to the contrail jocks, they don't bother me none. I very rarely manage to shoot anyone down, but I do force them to RTB often enough. P-40 and I-16 are equally good in that. I've flown the P-40 vs. LaGG-3 and the LaGG is the best.

It's not. I can only average 250-300kph.

I force the overshoot until they get mad and make the mistake of lining up in my guns.

At 6000m, an I-16 is a very hard target to hit.

 

Off-Topic:

It's cool to see the differences between a dogfight at 2000m vs a dogfight at 6000m, it is apples and oranges.

I noticed the Lagg-3 performs very well at 6000m due to it's energy retention.
