[CPT]milopugdog Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I'll sometimes look at the devblog area of the War Thunder website, and I noticed that they are adding the Bf-109 E-4 and E-7. Typical procedure, a Coub thing of it in action, short summary of the plane. But I can't shake the feeling that they're referencing BoM with this: Is it just me, or is the Bf-109 E-7 shooting down an I-16 over the Moscow map?
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) My theory: They're all the same team, work at the same building, share the same parties... DCS, IL2, WT, LM P3D, FSX:SE, X-Plane.... We pay for the show Edited October 13, 2015 by jcomm
Finkeren Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Wow, am I glad we're getting the E7 in BoM and not just in WT. Usually Gaijin can make their models look really nice in promo videos, but this doesn't look good at all. Horrible rendering, the nose apparently a wrong shape, ghastly colors etc. The only thing I think I might swap for WT is the sound of the guns. 2

I like them, but I don't like how all the machine guns have the same sound characteristics as the cannons
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) -snip- I can't shake the feeling that they're referencing BoM with this: -snip- Is it just me, or is the Bf-109 E-7 shooting down an I-16 over the Moscow map? Yes, the Battle of Moscow is a thing that happened... Yes, an E-7 shot down an I-16... However, I don't think they're referencing 1CGS/777's decision to produce a BOM expansion if that is what you are implying and I'm not sure where one would infer that from the video or announcement. I'm not talking about the spinner. That one seems fine I'm thinking about the cowling, which seems too narrow and almost pointed rather than the squared off shape we usually expect from Emils.

One of the thing Gaijin has on lock is pumping out decent 3D models with abysmal FMs. Edited October 13, 2015 by Space_Ghost
Finkeren Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Really? You think it looks the same? Those images you posted gives the exact impression of a 'squared off' nose, that I was tolking about, but in the video, it just looks 'off' to me I think, the problem lies in the panel right behind the spinner, I think it's a bit too long and at too shallow an angle. Makes the entire nose look pointy, where it should be stubby, even with the late Emil spinner. But I generally agree with you, that Gaijin models egenerally do look good.

Though a 10-second gif from a couple of odd angles doesn't do the model much justice...
