True Krupi, and I am as guilty as everyone else.Just sticks in the craw a bit that the same people who made a career out of being negative at 1c are now here lapping it up, when looking at the dev diary we will be getting less than we had already.

I was very supportive of CLOD in the forums in the early days, just like I will be here, but if the dev's here start the same deception has Luthier did then I will raise my concerns, some of us are blessed with being able to read between the lines, something that a lot of you are lacking.

Being constantly banned at the 1c forums for hitting the nail on the head surely deserves a little gloating now its all gone tits up. But if you really want to believe that complaints and whines brought the game down then you are all seriously deluded.CLOD is dead, it died the day it was released.

You were not banned for hitting the nail on the head you were banned for been an ass...

You do not have some magical power to read between the lines, if you did you would have been all over loft post.

With the reception CoD got it surely can surprise no-one that flight sim developers say to themselves "never again". The vitriol and perfidity unleashed by some in the flight sim community still astounds me to this day. One of the weirdest phenomena I've ever seen on the internet. I mean, if you are so unhappy with a product surely you just walk away (after perhaps one broadside in disgust). But no, the haters stuck with it till they got their much-vaunted result, the cancellation of BoM, oh happy day!

The majority of these people were not COD people, many never even owned it.  Notice that they are not so critical now,  now we have nothing.

@Krupi,  sorry mate but the Stasi run banana,  it's totally over the top moderation, horribly administered, which ended up hammering the life out of there.

Unfortunately the trolls from 1c on both sides perfected the way of irritating someone without appearing to do so from an outsiders view

And to give you a bit of my 1c background I was not a COD fanboy I did not ignore the problems that COD had I attempted "rather badly" to stop the infighting... it never worked

I hope they bring an ignore feature on to this forum.

The irony here is so great I had to put a stick in my mouth to stop myself from biting my own tongue off...

Krupi you prayers are answered. Its actually the first thing I looked for here ;)

Duhhh  Because they cannot rest on their laurels and any wise businessperson we be able to recognize an opportunity when they see one, either to start a new venture, end an old one or merge two teams. Some of you have said that CoD is in competition with BoS.... How silly is that... That CoD would be in competition with an as of yet non existant product..  It just seems to me that many of the posts made here by many folks should be made at 1C.. Not here.

and what do you think is now CloD to BoS ?

CloD needs to die and be over with it because of BoS preciselly .

Any new possible work on CloD is not in their best interest and I don't blame them .

We were sooo close and CloD would have been very alive and kicking .

That's how I see it .

You can believe that if you want Krupi, but I was raising concerns during development that came to fruition, and continued after the release, what did you do? Oh yeah lap it all up and lick Luthiers behind. Well done.

I cant wait for Alpha to turn up here, he gave me a perm ban at 1C for writing this 14 months after CLOD release, 'its a shame CLOD was released in such a poor state'. Alpha's reason for the ban: 'speculation'! lol

You just banned folks who you disagreed with instead....

I think the main reason you were banned was having multiple nicks and starting arguments with yourself...

It is nice to see some familiar names some of which I have not seen for some time, which I feel is a good sign. But for the sake of the thread, please keep it on track and don't let personal disputes overflow here.

The general underlying concerns of everyone here is that of alienating the current community. The new release will attract new blood and I have faith in 777. We are all passionate about the series and would prefer it to continue.

It is right to expect improvements. To accept the game as no frills for the sake of have or have not is not right. My main concern is for the community and it moving forward with the series. Such as the huge offline community, dogfights, co-ops, mission builders etc. IL-2 offered something for everyone and we all had to compromise.

Will this new release cater for one segment of the community whilst the rest stick with IL-2 1946?

Posted

The only problem with the ignore funtion is if another poster quotes someone you have on ignore, then you'll see a remark maybe better off unseen. A better function would be having that person disappear completely...

The phrase "Community" gets tossed around a lot in the flight sims forums most of us have been around the last 10-15 years. I doubt a casual observer would see it as such. More like a bunch of little kids who want everyone to play their way.

Don't forget me!

Oh wait.. I forgot you replied to several of my posts after you 'claimed' to have put me on ignore..

The irony of it all is your now where I was so long ago with regards to the likes of Tree and Furbs.. Better late than never!

Personally, the two game modes that concern me the most and I find lacking on current simulators are the co-ops and online war campaigns, these were extremely fun on 1946 and I would really love to see those in the new game.

Which is why I told him, better late than never..

Amusing that upon hearing that non of his demands from COD will be met in BOS he has yet to say anything negative, double standards thats all I see when I come to this board... double standards

That is a very good point! Good eye Krupi

Yeah, there were too many people that thought they had paid for a ticket to complain and used the perceived right to the fullest extent, making the forums the most miserable place imagineable, now the shoe is on the other foot suddenly people are finding some complaints a little irritating, I just don't get how many of you seem to be able to exclude yourselves from being culpable for what makes a commercial success/failure, it's up to the buying public or it just ain't a commercial venture.

Agreed 100%

No we just need to lock out the same people that seem to think nobody has a right to have 'concerns' from arguing.

:( sorry old chap, I had hoped this thread would be a good place to show our concerns, perhaps the wounds are too fresh and we can try again in a few weeks.

If 1C - 777 Ltd. buy into these kinda topics and decide to move the release date back one year because the community demands clickable cockpits and DX11....and then demands this...and demands that.....they will commit economic suicide.

Loft and Jason did a great job with their Diary, FAQ and questions topic, being very clear rightaway about what can be expected. It's kinda obvious that topics like this will follow...but I hope it's a short phase and useless discussions like this will be over by next year. The project is what it is, a new part of the IL2 franchise based on the Digital Nature engine, and completely seperate from CloD apart from the odd imported model. That decision has been made and it won't change. So now let's see where they can take it, rather than shout 'The King is Dead, Long Live the King'.

As for Huetz: listen to the man, he speaks the truth.

"I trust 777 and I am sure a unique experience will be created, just not sure of the cost.

Lt.Wolf"

I trust Jason as well.  Why?

Unlike the Dev's at CloD 1C?

He uses/plays/competes with his very own product.

That's my last reference to a defunct, dismissed and abandoned project, here.

I hope others are like minded.

Folks like myself, who "moved on" over to this nice place?

Perhaps, should place more emphasis to the "moved on" and less on the past.

Salute to Lt. Wolf & Everybody
