System87 Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 I dont mind flying with many big and low (700-800m) clouds and I dont mind flying in the morning when the sun is in the east, but wouldnt it be nice to have a clear sky every now and then for a change and maybe have a mission that is not in the morning so the sun is not in the east? To have clouds at 3,4,5 km or absolutly no clouds at all sometimes, not always at 700-800m alt (I mean wtf is up with that??), flying on the WOL server i get the feeling that there was never a day on the eastern fron without thik clouds at 800meters and the germans and russians had some kind of agreement that they will fight only in the morning so the russians can have the sun in their back most of the time. As I said I dont mind the clouds and the morning missions BUT I do mind that every single mission has to be like that, we need to get some diversity on the weather and time. 5

KoN_ Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Agood find fern, but there are some clear skies , but i hear what the OP is saying .
Y-29.Silky Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 (edited) I think MEditors tend to keep it in the morning/evening because many people complained about the sun reflecting off the snow being too bright. This community loves to complain about everything. What I really want to see at least one mission, is clouds like in the IL-2 single mission and how it was on the first days of Operation Uranus.. From the ground to 400m-ish. It would be really nice to see clouds at 4-5000m for once as well. Be nice if there was more wind too. Right now its 0m/s from 180 at all altitudes. And wow, Nice Find Fern! _ Edited October 10, 2015 by Y-29.Silky
coconut Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 The FME does not let you pick the altitude and thickness of the cloud layer. It might be possible to edit the mission file by hand, though. I haven't tried that.

kaboki Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Agree with OP, more variety in weather would be nice, but what I miss most in MP is more wind, crosswind and turbulence.... Would make landings and takeoffs more intresting and also dogfights would be more challengeing......
MadisonV44 Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Kaboki maybe you'd like to test more than a few missions online before asking for more challenge and difficulty for everybody ? After your 4 first days participating to WoL I'm convinced that you will discover that missions are already full of diversity and richness. @ WoL team : Thank you, keep up the good work guys ! I did not have the opportunity to fly a lot last week but even though noticed some improvement in network code since 1.104. Very encouraging and I do hope that the new Dserver will improve moreover the loss of packets issue still remaining. Edited November 7, 2015 by MadisonV44

After your 4 first days participating to WoL I'm convinced that you will discover that missions are already full of diversity and richness. After one week, I still haven't experienced anything but calm winds 2ms-3ms, but maybe I need another week to find any..... This game has some great weather simulation and I think it's a shame that it never is being used in MP, would also make level bombing more intresting, right now it's so calm that there isn't any need to calculate wind angles. Also some night/dawn/dusk missions from time to time would be cool... Edited November 10, 2015 by kaboki
