indiaciki Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) try the Alabeo Pitts... she's a amazing. Just bought her yesterday though I'm not into aerobatic planes at all. You don't see sh*t in forward view. Nothing at all. Less avionics than the Camel. Hardcore bird. Fun flying. I only landed her only once on a runway after flying for a few hours tonight...She's brilliant for those who'd like to fly ROF planes in civilian sims. Just a thought. She's all lateral view..... Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Unfortunately, X-Plane's flight dynamics don't come even close to what RoF / BoS offer.... But yes, it's a great add-on, and there are a few freewares you can also try, like the Sbach 300 from XPFR... All of these use heavily tweaked flight dynamics and artificial stability tricks, because the default data, if fed into X-Plane 10, will not render their performance - no no :-(
indiaciki Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 You're right. ROF is way better as is BOS...
indiaciki Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 I've flown the Sbach 300. Great freeware. But I get the impression flying aerobatics planes that they fly like R/C or toys. Maybe they do in real life.. There's something surreal about their FM. The Pitts is a bit different yet still kind of strange. I fly her like a regular plane and I have adjusted the field of view to match what I saw on youtube. I wonder if it's the simulators or if those planes are really flying toys. Any idea?
SharpeXB Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Alabeo and Caranado make some gorgeous stuff!
indiaciki Posted October 14, 2015 Author Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) Alabeo and Caranado make some gorgeous stuff! Yes. I bought most of them but they are limited by the flyght dynamics of x-plane. I bought the Alabeo Pitts - It's a disaster. For normal flight they are awesome. I love the Carenado Seneca. If you'r into x-plane try the Soulmade Beaver. It's perfect. Even better than Carenado and Alabeo aircraft. Alabeo AGtruck is really fun: but basically x-plane is an IFR sim. I fly it withe the Senece IFR and autopilot - I actually use the autopilot flying the Beaver. Don't get me wrong. I'll still be flying x-plane but I really didnt expect this on a Alabeo Pitts: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/18611-weird-spin-problem-another-sim-really-enigmatic-or-it-bug-fm/ Edited October 14, 2015 by indiaciki
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 FSX:SE or plain FSX can be an even better IFR sim...
indiaciki Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 FSX:SE or plain FSX can be an even better IFR sim... have you tried the wide cessna 2d cockpit for x-plan? i think it's great for IFR on two monitors
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Yes, that one was a great project - has it had developments ?
indiaciki Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 (edited) i think so. downloaded it a week ago. it was from 2015 Edited October 16, 2015 by indiaciki
Guest deleted@50488 Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Unfortunately, and although I sometimes get enthusiastic about XP10 ( recurrently ), I am sooner or later negatively impressed by the flight dynamics, and, believe me, I've tried everything to make it feel better.... Truth is, nothing comes closer to a good A2A GA, and those can really be used for IFR proficiency...
