71st_AH_Hooves Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Good looking gear, Could we see it in English please. http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/18545-vkb-and-stratojet-release-plans-q4-2015-2016/
Sokol1 Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Uhhh, I was about to pre-order Mamba... Gunfighter models replace Mamba models.
Marrond Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Gunfighter models replace Mamba models. Yeah, I was told that Mamba would arrive later this year but now with Gunfighter arround I don't see that happening. I was really hoping to get my joystick before Christmass. Oh well. KG12, totally worth it!
TWC_Ace Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 Gunfighter models replace Mamba models. Big surprise for me is Gladiator pro because it has metal gimbal mechanism. I wonder whats the difference since Gnfighter is also metal mechanism...and what are teh prices, who is the EU representative...??

VKB say (in Russian forum) that are a chance of another batch of Mamba Mk.IV, with Gunfigher electronics and new Gunfighter gimbal system (CAM?) - and the same Cobra M5 grip). In Mamba the gimbal work with "tweezers" (like in CH joysticks), in Gunfighter is said that use CAM (like in VKB T-Rudder, MFG Crosswind and in new Slaw Pedal). Edited October 8, 2015 by Sokol1

This site looks awfully unprofessional to say the least. Did anybody write and get a response? Are there other options for Europeans? Would like to preorder one of the new joysticks.
Jason_Williams Posted October 8, 2015 Posted October 8, 2015 VKB is working on a new Russian/English website to ease the issue of finding information. If you want the latest up to date info, please join the official VKB/Stratojet forum and ask questions there. http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/ I am helping to improve VKB communications to help ease confusion. Just as I have done with 1CGS and 777. Please be patient and all we become clear. Right now, product supply is very low everywhere as VKB develops it's next round of products. The Gladiator line and Gunfighter will usher in a new era of sustained growth and availability for VKB products in Russia, Europe, Asia and North America. Eventually reaching other markets as well. Stratojet will be assisting them along the way. VKB takes pride in being a small, but growing force in the joystick / flight-stick market and they do things a bit different, but as you can see doing things a bit different has been yielding some cool results. 74_jim_nihilist Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Hey Jason, thanks for the information. Can't wait to order.
JG27_Chivas Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Nice info, 2016 could turn out to be a good year, where I can finally get back in combat flight sims, with a decent joystick, buy a VR headset, and enjoy DCS in VR, WT in VR, COD TF version 5, and all the improvements made to BOS/BOM.

VR-DriftaholiC Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I noticed on another image that the cam profile for pitch differs depending on direction while the ailerons are symmetrical. Could you speak on this design?
Jason_Williams Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I noticed on another image that the cam profile for pitch differs depending on direction while the ailerons are symmetrical. Could you speak on this design? You may want to ask this on the VKB and see if UIV will respond. That's his department as he is the actual designer. Jason
Sokol1 Posted November 13, 2015 Author Posted November 13, 2015 I noticed on another image that the cam profile for pitch differs depending on direction while the ailerons are symmetrical. Could you speak on this design? I think the same, but in that gimbal are mounted two different CAM (soft and hard center), the apparent difference noted in right side (pitch) is due picture perspective and the variation in this CAM thickness in pivot bolt area, what suggest a variable profile in this side. And this type of CAM are not symmetrical, has different curvature for left and right side of the same CAM to compensate the circular movement, making the response proportional in both sides. Looking carefully at aileron CAM, you notice that the side near pivoting bolt has slight less curvature. Is easy notice this in T-Rudder CAM. 1
Weegie Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I've ordered the Mamba IV as Sokol mentioned and is spot on (as always), scheduled for January. I'm in Europe so I got the VKB Euro route to get my stuff. Eduard informed me that the Gunfighter and KG 12 grips will be compatible, so I'll probably purchase these grips and put them on the Mamba come the time they are released. Hopefully this will give me the best of all worlds with all the stuff on the Mamba base and the new grips. In the meantime the grip the FBM looks pretty good anyway. I never realised simming would get so expensive
Sokol1 Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 This info interest for owners of Mamba Mk.I and II (from Russian forum). "Release upgrades mechanical joysticks Mamba - single. We are doing this in support of our products.Until December 10 to collect orders. And produced by a separate party. Of course, we will make a slightly larger amount than you need. But when upgrades are over, I'm not sure what we can do again. For 5-10 sets a new production run is impossible. Please understand."
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 -snip- At a low, low price of "You can't afford it so don't even bother."
Bussard_x Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 That looks WW2, very nice. Hope this comes out soon.
Lusekofte Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) It replicate a KG 13 stick used in 109´s and 190´s and like the russian also did, they put a similar in late LA 5 and YAK´s I might just want a toy like that myselff Edited January 9, 2016 by EG14_LuseKofte
Bussard_x Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Is the little button down front the HAT switch?
Sokol1 Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) It replicate a KG 13 stick used in 109´s and 190´s and like the russian also did, they put a similar in late LA 5 and YAK´s Is not exactly replica, but based on KG12A/13B (or Sovietic P-1M copy) with better ergonomics for "gamers" - the grip is less circular or more oval, the trigger don't jump from fire position for safety position like in the real, but stop in the middle to avoid "hammer" the nail of a distracted "triggerhappy virpilov" (and so avoid the American lawyers), as will be a optional lever for make easy press the "pinky" button. Is the little button down front the HAT switch? No, this button in from of grip (lower/"pinky") is just a press button (in RL grip a radio PTT button). HAT switch is the one in KG-12/13B B2-Knopf place - the button added in the left side of RL grip for drop bombs (h): http://ww2aircraft.net/forum/attachments/start-to-finish-builds/272842d1411730245t-1-1-kg13-grip-control-stick-kg-top-jpeg-jpg In VKB KG-12A this button is a 5 way HAT - N, E, S, W plus central press button - as well the top button (B or B1-Knopf, in RL grip for fire central mounted cannon*) In this way the 4 buttons in RL KG12/13B grip became 12 buttons in VKB KG-12A. The button pressed be trigger lever in lower position is the A-Knopf (for fire MG, wing mounted cannons). * The arrangement in RL grip depends on plane version and weapons installed. Bussard_x Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Thanks Sokol, makes sense that B2 button is used for HAT switch.
9./JG27MAD-MM Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Have VKB with extension other cam profiles? with standard you have less force?
Sokol1 Posted January 10, 2016 Author Posted January 10, 2016 (edited) Initially are 3 types of CAM, the 10 for "soft" center, 30 for "hard" center. People that have pre-ordered Black Mamba or Vintage Mamba will receive two sets of CAM, with both types, and if want can use, for example 30 in X and 10 in Y or vice versa, besides use only one type. And are the CAM "W", special for Warthog grip, due the more weight (~600 grs) of this grip. Edited January 10, 2016 by Sokol1 1
9./JG27DavidRed Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Sokol, do you know when we can expect to pre-order that stick? cheers
Sokol1 Posted January 11, 2016 Author Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) David, No, only "rumors" from BoS Russian forum: Is said that VKB Mamba Mk.III and Mamba Vintage will be shipped for pre-orders in next weeks, as well the CAM Gimbal upgrate kits. The Gladiator Light (the entry level version) are made in 50 units for tests, some units will be send to BoS, DCS and War Thunder developers in Russia for evaluation. Is expected that this version hit the market in March (due Chinese New Year holidays in February). So is presumable that Gunfigther come after, first with the plastic grip - the metal grip development was finished but the costly molds for cast are postponed (budget).
