Jade_Monkey Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Hi everyone, I'm sure this must be somewhere in the forums but havent been able to find it. How do you create a waypoint that can be seen visually, with a yellow pin like in the game's SP? Thanks!
coconut Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I can give you a white waypoint: Waypoint.zip I don't know much about these, this was a quick test a just did. If anyone finds out more, feel free to share! Helpers that were available some time ago, and might still be working: arrow blend_add blend_add_scale blend_norm poi waypoint This list was obtained using ungtp.exe, which unfortunately no longer works. It now gives a partial list of files, and the content of this file is either garbage or encrypted. Which is a bit sad, as it makes sneaking around the data files to find interested bits a lot harder. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, and I suppose making this kind of legitimate hacking possible is not the devs' highest priority, so I'm not too surprised.
JimTM Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Does the AI POI MCU generate a pin? Just a thought, I haven't tried testing it yet.

Jade_Monkey Posted October 4, 2015 Author Posted October 4, 2015 Do you mean in normal game settings where you see the yellow pin hanging in the sky Yes, exactly! I can give you a white waypoint: Waypoint.zip I don't know much about these, this was a quick test a just did. If anyone finds out more, feel free to share! Thanks Coconut, I tried it but this is a bit more than I thought, I wanted the small pin in the sky that Jacko mentioned. I went back to the SP missions and it seems like the pin is not there anymore? Im a bit confused, I guess some of the last updates must have changed the icons. Does the AI POI MCU generate a pin? Just a thought, I haven't tried testing it yet. Not sure what that is. I'd like to learn more.
JimTM Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Re. generating the yellow waypoint pin in the sky: Do the following: 1. Place waypoint triggers to define the route and target link each trigger to the next one along, in the direction of travel. 2. Object link all the waypoint triggers on the route to the player plane. Note: To see the yellow teardrop symbol for the next point on the route, the player must do the following: - Enable the HUD (in-game control is "Show/hide entire HUD") and show the navigation markers (in-game control is "Show/hide instrument panel, navigation and map markers"). - Enable navigation markers for the mission. To enable navigation markers, the player must go to the IL-2 Sturmovik mission list, click the "Realism" button, and select the "Navigation Markers" check box. Re. AI POI (from Han of 1CGS): It's attractor object for AI planes (already) and vehicles (in future) in case when they have no any other mission commands at the moment. So, if plane have a command - he will perform it. If plane have no command - he will fly to AI POI and do what is predicted by AI POI settings. If plane have no command and there is no matching AI POI - he will fly circles aroun current point.
coconut Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 So, if plane have a command - he will perform it. If plane have no command - he will fly to AI POI and do what is predicted by AI POI settings. I wonder if a complete order command counts as having a command. It could also be a way to get aggressive AIs in MP, who knows. Will have to try that when the football schedule allows for it 1
