Good stuff... you know, I'd rather have had the Tomahawk instead of the Kittyhawk, but hey ho :)

Yeah, I've always liked the earlier versions better as well, but the P-40E is fine. I'm really just waiting for a P-39 to really get my lend-lease enthusiasm going.

Great Article btw Uriah :good:

P39 is indeed missed... but maybe it's in the production line? ;)

I'm more fond of the long-tailed M and N models.  More balanced looking to my eye.

Sorry, in the "Questions for de\/elopers" section it is stated that there are no plans so far.

But who knows for the future eh?

What Han said was, that there are no definate plans for what's coming after BoM, just a range of ideas. He did not saying that they are not planning to do a P-39.

If the next installment of this sim will take place on the Eastern Front as well, which I think is likely, then a P-39 will be a very likely candidate as either a regular or a premium plane.

The Kuban theatre has been mentioned by the dev's more than once...

I personally think it's gonna be Kursk, mostly because of name recognition, but also because it's the perfect setting for some very prominent types: IL-2M, P-39, Bf 109G6, Fw 190A5, Hs 129, Yak-9T and La-5FN.

Kursk makes more sense because it allows the devs to introduce a completely new plane set.

My personal pick would be Leningrad and the Baltic though (anywhere from the Leningrad-Helsinki corridor to expanding down to Riga is and Klaipeda), because that front saw action from 1939 all the way through the war. This would bring another front (since we have Southern and Central). The flexibility is great, just about all plane sets are good plane sets here. It is also an enormous front with loads of cities though... OK, fine, maybe this would be the perfect standalone map add-on instead

Han did say they were going to discuss the future development structure after BoM when answering a question. If this means changing it altogether or just 'what's the next theatre' I don't know.

Interesting Article. Many thanks for sharing it.

Kursk would feature a more then boring map. Kuban would be most beautiful regarding the map.

I'm not speaking of the planeset.

Just the map.

I agree. The Kursk area is pretty boring landscape, but maybe also easier to build than the Kuban mountain ranges. One thing that could make a Kursk map more interesting would be to include the extensive fortifications that were made in the area as an integral part of the map. That would certainly also make navigation easier and give you a real sense of the war going on down below, the same way the bombed Stalingrad and burning villages do in BoS.

In any case, if it's gonna be Kursk, which I think is most likely, then it'll be because of the name recognition and interesting plane set, not because of the map.

Kursk plane set would be amazing. Yak 9s and La5fn would give me a reason to give up my lovely 190 for a time.

Yeah, either give it up, or go down with it ;)

La5FN during kursk were pretty rare, and quite different from the 1944 version of La5FN, an La5F would be better  and more balanced.

Agreed, though I think in the end, they'll go with the more recognizable FN-model.

A dream plane set for Kursk would be Yak-9 (with the T-model as a weapons unlock), La-5F, P-39N, IL-2M and IL-4 vs. Bf 109G6, Fw 190A5 (F model as unlock), Hs 129, Do 217 and IAR-80 (not suitable for Kursk but great for Stalingrad)
