I can't move machineguns with my mouse on He 111 and Ju 87

Hey guys, after quite a couple of fun in turning circles with fighters, I wanted to try what I can do with german bombers. But when I tried out the defensive weapons, as I allready had problems with it in CoD, I found out, that I can take control of the machineguns, I can fire them, but I am not able to move them with my mouse. It's the same thing on the Ju 87. Only way to move them is with the cooliehat, which of course is not very practical. Has someone a solution for this problem?

Press LShift-C and LCtrl-C

Sorry McKvack, but this didn't help, it doesn't work, because LShift-C is the standart setting for Switch Sides and LCtrl-C for Change Position. It's not the problem because I have allready the control of the weapon, I can fire it, I just can not move it.

Maybe T for take/leave gun control and LShift+T for gunsight view.

Hi Yogi

Check your key bindings as suggested by Fazer and McKvack.

I had the same problem, and whilst my controls reflected the commands posted by Fazer, I eventually defaulted everything and started again. I posted a similar thread to you and got the same answers above. This solution fixed the problem for me, so I hope it helps.

OK, now I rechanged the keys in the setting back to Standard, I restarted the game, even restarted the PC. Still the same. In Chuck's Stalingrad Guide, where he shows the Standart keys you need for the guns, he also mentions MOUSE = AIM. Is there a special key for aiming with the mouse, I have to set?

Weird.

Normally you would switch to gunner-position, then take the gun by command and then nestle to it if needed with another command. Have you tried it in other planes, Il-2 for example?

btw: tired putting the mouse into a different usb port? (just worth a try)

I just rechecked my setting, and didn't find anything about mouse aiming. I think Chuck means that You should use the mouse for aiming, nothing more.

Is the mouse working OK in the game? Are You able to look around in the cockpit and rotate the view in the external F2? If not, try a different port, as suggested by Jordan (or a different mouse).

If the mouse didn't work only in the gunnery, I'm at a loss. Maybe another software (joystick setting, for exemple) is conflicting.

This is the only way to fix this. It seems a few updates ago this happened. Several of us TWB guys couldn't move our guns. We had to select "default" and remap all our keys. Yes a PITA, but it fixed it.

OK guys, first of all thanks a lot for your great support. My mistake after the post of Major_Hero was, that I set the keys to the Standart. But after the post of Hooves I understood, that I had to change the complete setting to "default" and it really works. The only thing is, as far as I saw, it is the same problem as in CoD, the gun is not moving very fast, in 1946 it is much faster. With this speed it won't be possible to follow a fighter passing from side to side.

I think thats how it was IRL. The gunner needs to move the turret ring manually and doing that while returning fire at the same time is probably hard :)

Turning some turrets with rudder peddles would feel cool as well, even if perhaps not the right way to do so.

The game planes have moving turrets? I think have only pivotable machine guns/cannon, use joystick to control these result weird due the effect of 'stick return to center spring.

In Cl*D was possible control Fiat BR.20 upper turret (in real plane this turret is motorized) with joy' (or pedal) axis and result very effective, but TF patch 4.0 broken this ability in favor of mouse usage (to fix the "inverted" axis in that turret - not really inverted, just done to be controlled with joystick and not mouse, but "gamers"...).

The Pe-2 has a dorsal turret as an unlock.
