chiliwili69 Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 http://www.twitch.tv/oculus/v/17568817 IMHO, it is clear that 2016 will be the year where VR go to mainstream... Facebook acquisition is not changing the plans of Oculus as many of us were have afraid of. Facebook have put the needed resources to go mainstream, and it seems they are doing well: Defining the "Oculus ready" hardware, developping input devices, investing in R&D, supporting open graphics engines, partnering with large companies (Samsung, AMD, Nvidia, Microsoft, etc), good marketing, supporting small and large developers, going beyind gaming (Movies, Netflix, Design, Art, etc) I am not in Facebook (I have not the need to constantly share my live with others). The only thing I ask to Mark Zuckerberg is that he will not obligue us to register in Facebook to use future VR contents!! ;-) So, Yes, VR will happen in 2016 and so on. PD for moderators: I wrote this post just to show OR tech status. It is not my intention to deviate the course of the current development plan of BoS/RoF. Hardware specs and SDK are well defined, forecast CV1 is 5 million units for 2015, I leave to the wise Dev Team to decide when and how going to VR. Whenever it will be done , it will be well done.
-NW-ChiefRedCloud Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) It will launch in 2016 but will take many years to evolve. I look forward to it but it's, really, just at it's beginning. Still, it is impressive to say the least. Thanks for posting and yes, I watched the WHOLE video from start to end. Now I need to pick up the book HACKERS by Steven Levy. Present requirements for Oculus on the PC: NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD 290 equivalent or greater Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater 8GB+ RAM Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output 2x USB 3.0 ports Windows 7 SP1 or newer Chief Edited September 25, 2015 by -NW-ChiefRedCloud

RavenRavenHGK Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Good Day All! I have an Oculus DK2 and would love to beta test anything that helps make this possible for IL2 !!!!! Oculus is excellent on Elite Dangerous and works ( Barely at this point ) on Star Citizen. It is a dream though to fly over stalingrad in VR. So I am another pilot ( Wannabe ) that cannot wait for these updates to find their way into my life. Cheers
