arrow_man Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 Can control the inlet and outlet separately, is it worth playing with them separately for speed for should I map both of them to a single axis?
bivalov Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 inlet flaps didn't affect on speed.......... and, maybe, later they will add some little effect after closing of inlet flaps.....
Matt Posted September 24, 2015 Posted September 24, 2015 (edited) It makes more sense to bind both the inlet and the oil cooler to the same axis. They both have very little impact on speed and should both be opened and closed in the same situations. For instance, in a dive with idle throttle, you might have to close both to keep the engine from getting too cold. In most other situations you're better off keeping them fully open. The outer cooling flaps cause very high drag and should only be opened when absolutely necessary. So i would definately put them on a seperate axis. Edited September 24, 2015 by Matt 2
Fern Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 (edited) If you use boost you want to have both cowling flaps open or you'll overheat. Right now I have them on separate axis. I leave my inlet open all the time and only adjust my outer cowling flaps dependent on power settings. Seems to work fine. Edited September 25, 2015 by Fern
