Azdack Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Hi guys, always got so much fun playing PWCG: three questions : -is it a way to go back on desk from BOS without leaving the game; after having plaid a PWCG's mission I have to leave the game to open PWCG to watch the combat report and debriefing and to start a new mission and then to open the game again to play the new mission selected; once in game nothing happens when I click on the key "windows" on my key board to go back on desk. -I began the campaign as a sergeant; 9 victories up yet; does PWCG manage the change of grades? I got same medals but i'm still a sergeant. -in intercept missions most of the planes I have to fight are 109 or FW or Heinkel but rarely ju87 or ju52; what do I have to set to fight more bombers or carrier planes? thanks in advance for answers.
PatrickAWlson Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I don't have Ju52 squadrons yet. There are a significant number of Ju87 squadrons so I'm not sure why - other than randomness - you are not seeing them.

Try alt-tab instead of the Windows key.

Only Italians fly the MC and the MC is the only thing that Italians can fly. Me109 is German. When you create a campaign choose the German (Nazi) flag and you will be able to fly German planes.

After you press "New Campaign" from the main screen you are presented with the campaign generation screen. On the left panel are three flags, Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and Italy. Choose one of them and you will be presented with the units for that nation.

Bando Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 @ Borris: In "advanced config settings" at "mission limits" is a line "max enemy planes". Set that to the number you require and try again. Hope this helps.

Picchio Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 (edited) Is there a way to extend/include mission starting time earlier than 0800 and later than the current limit (which I don't remember at the moment)? It would make sense for summer/autumn... even if such possibility wasn't restricted to summer or autumn, the user could then choose a more appropriate time manually, if the mission happened during winter. There were night time missions during winter too though, so it wouldn't be so out of place. Edited December 31, 2015 by Picchio

These are effectively presets of the advanced configs - i.e. air density will impact several advanced config items. Ground density settings in simple config will impact others. I suggest you use simple config first to get things closest to where you want them and then go to advanced config to tweak the settings. This is important to understand: simple config impacts the same config parameters as advanced config. Simple config simple sets many related settings at once. It only understands that you crashed and survived. it doesn't really care how you survived. But that wasn't really the question . Yes, there is a chance to return safely if you are behind enemy lines. PWCG figures out how far behind enemy lines you crashed and bases a calculation on that. The further behind the lines the less the chance of returning. 1

Trick is that they spawn within seconds of each other and the WPs are only a few meters apart, so they should more or less look and act like a formation. The down side is that if they ever do disperse they will never rejoin. Still beats the heck out of circling.

When testing you notice things that you won`t notice otherwise too much. Like that disperse thing you mentioned.
Jason_Williams Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 This circling problem has to have a solution because the in-game campaign does not have as bad a problem with this. We need to speak to Viks and Han and find a solution in the mission building itself besides this drastic solution. Or if we can demonstrate that the AI pathfinding is so buggy that we probably need to spend resources coding a fix. Bottom line is I need Pat talking to some on the team directly on this. It's just easier said than done unfortunately. Jason 4
