Dufalator Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hello, I am trying to fly escort missions in my FW-190. The bombers that I am supposed to protect will not advance through their waypoints to the target. Instead, they just circle around my airfield over an over again. What am I doing wrong here? How do I get the bombers to fly through their mission?

You can make a report to the technical issues thread. Does this happen every time?
216th_Peterla Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Hi Dufalator. Please try with other fighter(Me109) and also change the airfield and see if the bombers are still doing the same.
PatrickAWlson Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I was having the same problem with PWCG missions. I had this setup: Mission Begin -> Timer A Timer A -> Timer B and Timer C Timer B -> Command Formation Timer C -> Waypoint The planes formed up and circled. It appeared that the WP activation got lost in the shuffle. I fixed it as follows: Mission Begin -> Timer A Timer A -> Timer B Timer B -> Command Formation and Timer C Timer C -> Waypoint i.e. the fix was to ensure that all of the timers were in sequence and not in parallel. A->B->C and not A-> B and C Also, do not use 0 length timers. I use 1 or 2 seconds between each timer. More than enough time for the computer to react but not nearly enough time for the AI to wander about clueless. Obviously cannot be sure exactly what your specific issue is but I hope that helps.
Livai Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) What am I doing wrong here? How do I get the bombers to fly through their mission? Without the mission to take a look what you did wrong it is very hard to help. Maybe you did something wrong. The easy way to learn what you did wrong is just to explore other missions with the Full Mission Builder. This is what I did to learn fast how to use the Full Mission Builder and to find my mistakes what I did wrong. If your problem is a bug. You can test this the same way. Open a finished mission that comes with the game and replace the planes and see if the bombers start to circle around again. Edited September 21, 2015 by Superghostboy
coconut Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 It's to me unclear if OP meant he has a problem with designing missions, or with playing the missions available in the game (probably from the campaign).
No601_Swallow Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 (edited) Sometimes with SP missions, your wingmates (at takeoff), don't follow you - at least they didn't seem to follow m!. I think I had this problem sometimes with Veteran's missions. Being "definite" with your take-off seemed to cure things (if I recall correctly). In other words, take off with full throttle, but then throttle back and let the AI wingmen catch up before beginning anything fancy like climbing or turning. Maybe there's something similar happening here? The bombers waiting for all the AI escorts to take off, etc, etc? Edited September 21, 2015 by No601_Swallow
