Looking over the Rate it Now as it is," poll I am heartened to see the game has solidly made it into positive territory over time. Roughly 79 percent rate it a six or better. 62 percent rate it a seven or better. I think this game has a fighting chance for a nice long run. Here's to multiple theaters and good revenue stream for the DEVS. I am personally pleased with the game and think it is coming along nicely. I haven't said thanks in a while so, "thanks," to Jason, Loft, Zac, B6 and the entire team plus Pat and Zeus. Keep up the good work.

If you haven't voted or changed your vote for some time maybe pay that poll a little visit to say where you stand today.....and tell a friend too.

My rating for Bos has been 8 for a long time. It still is but I think before christmas it will be 9 when we got all the new stuff. With new maps, all the fixes before and in future, new features and of course Pat Wilson`s work will reach this title to a new level. You are right Murf, people deserve credit for their hard work.

Thank you devs and everyone involved for making this great game  :salute: . It is my number one simulator now and I think it will be for a long time.

I'd say it's a solid 8 as it stands right now. With the upcoming developments, summer maps and the new campaign mode, it most certainly will be higher.

Agreed. This game is growing in quality and quantity.

When PWCG comes out there wont be much missing.

My only dream (I know it wont happen) would be a simple way to run a co-op and some way to find people to fly with/against like a kind of lobby.

I think I gave it 9/10 anyway....there is no way you can rack up this many hours and not love the sim

I'll give it a 10 once bomb sight "autopilot left/right turn" is fixed and we got a flyable Ju-52 :)

I'm currently at a low '8'. It'll be approaching '9' when the improved campaign and summer maps are out, and in six moths time, when we have BoM released and a fully working PWCG, It'll be a high '9'. Are there things that still need some serious fleshing out? Yes. Are there still unresolved issues serious enough to warrant a fix ASAP? Yes. Am I confident that it'll all fall into place and give us the best WW2 sim experience ever? Yes, absolutely! :)

Yes. It tells me, that you're not really qualified to rate the sim as it is now. You really oughta give it another try, when the summer maps are out. I think you're gonna be amazed.

:scratch_one-s_head:  I wonder why all start to Vote how this game is again? Is this really needed? I see new players flying MP. And really it is too cold to vote. BTW to simulate winter maps is easy. Only the summer maps show how good the game engine is.  All eyes should look at the summer maps and the Improved Campaign.

I hope the summer maps are really good and a huge improvement over RoF. But I worry about statements like ready, not ready, still tweaking....blablabla. Screenshots are boring. Videos are cool. Where are the Live Streams where the Devs show their hard work and share with us all the WIP stuff. At the moment I see keep all things secret from the public. At the end the result how good are the summer maps compared to RoF show how good this game really is. And if there where made major improvements?

I'm still sticking mostly to SP, but have now switch to almost exclusively ground attack and that actually a lot of fun for me. I'm even spending a bit of time in the Stuka, perfecting dive bombing.

But I'm almost only doing QMB or make my own missions. I'm anxious to try out pat wilsons career

mode. I'm more looking forward to that than any official updates of BoM or BoS.

Posted (edited)

7 to 7.5, a year ago I gave it a 6 but the improvements in the past months turned out great.

Things that are missing for me is some sort of career mode, improvements to AI (a lot of work), including larger convoys of ground units and larger air battles (SP). Also autumn/summer map(s). These things are keeping the sim out from 9 points, for me.

In my point system, 10 points is the absolute legendary status and the content quantity like original IL-2 or a pacific theater including zeros, bearcats and corsairs would do.  ;)

...lol just picking on it. Sim is great. It made me come unglued from DCS once again. Dying for a pacific theather tho... a lot....

I was going to rate it now (high) but then I saw that post on the forum from devs stating they dont intend to fix FMs of BOS (FW190, Yak1 etc) planes anymore, no matter docs or not...

Edited by blackram

They did not say that. Jason said they have a lot of work right now with new planes fm, and they are not especially convinced the fm is wrong.

It's a solid 7 in my books from a "potential" standpoint but the revelation about future revising of the FMs is a pretty unfortunate call from the team as far as I am concerned.

Zak or Han or Jason Can you please answer about Yak flaps and Fw 190 roll rate and climb rate pls?

And nice job!  :salute:

I don't believe we are tweaking FMs for those planes any longer.

I had rated it at 8, but now it is 9, and I wouldn't mind giving it a 10 !

I rated at 8 months ago, now, I lower it to 4, for various reasons.

Rated it to 7-8 almost one year ago.

Lowered it to 5, for some reasons.

Some things got better, some things got worse in this game over time.

6/10 for me at this time.

But as a Sim its second to none IMO.

I will get BOM when its fully released, but for now I,m a infrequent flyer only.

I gotta say that after flying "Friday night bomber mission", I rate BOS 10/10. Problem is that the ultimate feeling of this game can only be achived when each team is organized and using teamwork.

Sadly that never happens in a random multiplayer game and the campaign is just too lame.

I'm no reference as a combat flight simmer, because I'm a lousy virtual combat pilot, I actually don't like things like bombing missions, and above all I put my emphasis on the flight and systems modeling.

As a flight simulator, in all aspects it covers, from flight dynamics to some aspects of systems modeling, damage modeling, but even in areas like weather modeling ( within the scope of a combat flightsim ), I really can't find anything ahead of Il2 BoS.

I just would like to see some additional tuning of some of the aircraft that aren't going to get further updates, but that's far from being a show stopper.

What the.....[Edited] ?

To answer... Because the ridiculous problems we have today and that we already had one year ago could be excused by "They just released the game, let them some time"... but one year ago, yes. Now, this excuse does not work.

Are you going to whine because i give it 5 ?

I don't really give a crap what rating you give it.  If you choose to get butthurt because the developer doesn't agree with you about something, or can't make the changes that you want, that is your problem.

Thank you to confirm that the note i gave to the sim really bothers you.

Perhaps because BoS is your only reason to exist ?

PS: I just figured that i'm talking with [Edited] that the BoS forum has known.

Another post doomed to become a cesspit teeming with pointless arguing and completely derailing the original topic..

This game looks like it has a bright future, I think the new maps will bring a lot of people back to check it out again.

Considering the limitations on budget and the size of the team I think they're making good progress. With a game of this calibre it's hard to keep everyone happy, despite this I r8 it gr8 m8 8/8

You should check out Rise of Flight forum. BSR was one of the most prominent critics of RoF , mostly because of FM's inaccuracies.

But to doubt BoS FM's is apparently pathetic.

Nice double standards.

The game still has warts but it is really pretty good and obviously improving with time.

It seams some "old issues" are repeating. New stuff in front of FM fixes. I dont think FM is bad. In fact its very very nice. BUT I dont think its the time, men or resources whats the problem here. Its the decision of the leading men that FMs are ok as they are and dont need additional fine tuning. Maybe its connected with the fact that RL performing FW190 would be to good (anyway it wasnt in the service in BOS in greater numbers).  However, with that said Its not a deal breaker for me. Im still enjoying this game very much and will continue doing so. Its a great sim. We are lucky it still exists in todays world of mobile/console gaming philia. Also now I have other games I play. Sims are not the only and ultimate passion for me anymore and long ago I lost hope for a sim which would unite super FM (as close as could be with historical data), super detailed cockpits and big community which would fly COOPS, historical dogfight servers or SEOWS.

Why so low on FM, Manfred?

Is it perfect, no way.

Are some of the FM's a game killer? For me no.

Are the Yak flaps a major issue? Not for me.

Is it the best WWII combat flight sim out there? Personally speaking, yes.

8.5 out of 10.
