79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 what about the rolling model of the pencil of the bomber navigator You mean the overmodeled Russian delta-wood pencil, where all available data proved German pencils was clearly superior? 1
310thWillyVic Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 As offered by AdEridanus on March 23rd of 2004: "German pencils captured near the end of the war were too damaged to provide any useful info to the Russians, mainly due to the increase in "chewmarking" on the pencils as the allies surrounded Berlin." So I believe that your superiority agrument may lack merit FF. B)
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Surely, that is a translation error, we all know it was the carpet that had gnawmarks! Peronaly, i maintain the British Derwent pencil to be superior. It was not as fast, but much smoother to the touch and gave far better colour!
IbisWTE_Ibis Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 (edited) I wish someone would come up with some of those nice Photoshopped posters.. There you go Bearcat, though I can't remember who the original poster was. Cheers, Ibis. Edited March 5, 2013 by Ibis

danjama Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Still lots of people missing but it is a good forum compared to certain other places. I agree it feels a bit like a time warp. Anyone know what happened to Jura? And DD_Luther? So many people actually.
FlatSpinMan Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Luthier was here a while ago I'm sure. Different squadron prefix, I think. Js_Jura is here.
Uufflakke Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 (edited) Great to see all those names again from the goold old Ubi times. Haven't posted there since they changed the layout of their site. Off topic: what does the "0 warning points" mean underneath my avatar and how can I get rid of it? Can't find the option for it in my profile settings. Edited March 12, 2013 by Uufflakke
BlitzPig_EL Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I never go back to the UBI sight anymore for IL2, I do pop into the SH IV room once in a while.

You can't but that is a good thing. it means you have nevet had to be warned with a ban of any kind.
FlatSpinMan Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 Correction to my earlier post. It wasn't Jura I'd seen, but Juri. I presume these are entirely different people.
79_vRAF_Friendly_flyer Posted March 13, 2013 Posted March 13, 2013 I suppose this is the Jura Danjama talked about: http://spitfire.ic.cz/index2.htm

chris455 Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Thanks Extreme One, seeing that made my day!
JG26_Valak Posted December 4, 2020 Posted December 4, 2020 I might be remembered as VF101_Hartmann8. and JG-26_Marseille. started flying with jg26 right before I had to hang up the game heading to my first ship in 2007 but I was still 100% vf101. was able to hang with Treabhar for a week up at his place before the navy and kurt once during the time we stopped in the UK during deployment on the way home. I am trying to find my way back into the IL-2 scene after years of military service and post military hardship. I see you Wandalen! What was the squad everyone went to after vf101 i know it was British but I can't remember at all.
