Today is the 75th Anniversary of Battle of Britain day - when the largest Luftwaffe raid on Britain was defeated by the Allied forces. It wasn't the end of the battle, but it was a decisive blow to the Axis war effort.

 

R.I.P. All Allied and Axis personnel and civilians who died in the Battle of Britain :salute:

The decisive battle of WW2 versus Germany: British defeat would have meant invasion, or more likely Churchill being ousted and the creation of a government willing to do a deal with Hitler.

 

With Britain out of the war, the USSR would have been next, would have received no help from the UK and almost certainly not from the US, and would have been beaten.

 

German hegemony in Europe. :(
